As a fun rebuttal that 18+ means ERP, my guild is 18+ for language/topics. Not for sexuality.

We're very strictly AGAINST erotic roleplay. It's just not something we do or believe is good at all for the health of a roleplay community. What y'all do is your own business though.

Anything and everything is potentially bad for health when abused and most likely won't hurt anyone if done the 'right' way. Including Roleplaying!

So due mentioning lacking Im using this one and hope everyone get what I am trying to say: Sexist much? Its not more or less harmfull then playing military-RP that involves non-engine combat.

I'm not meaning anything about an individual person's emotional health. I am meaning that it's not good for the health of the roleplay community, as in, it has a tendency to create trouble. Like I also said, whatever y'all do, it's y'all's private business. We just don't support it or think it's a good idea.

I get what you mean, and I sort of agree. I completely understand that people don't want to ERP, and I think it's something that should always be kept in private, but I don't see it as worse than playing out violence, and everyone playing the game, and not just by crafting, does that all the time. But as I mentioned in a previous post, it might be a cultural difference, Denmark have always been pretty "relaxed" regarding sexual content (the first country to legalize porn?), and things like purity rings would likely be laughed off the stage here, so I might be biased Tongue

Then again, I've seen pretty heavy crusading against ERP on EU servers too, so it might just be different viewpoints Smile

I think it's very true that ERP can hurt a community's health... Look at WoW and you'll see how.
However, what happens in my private channel stays in my private channel and all that. Wink

That is, until someone Misstells.
I really hope we never get any such crusades, though.
Crusades are only nice in fiction.

This is fiction though. I agree, crusades aren't great for rp, but rp IS a form of fiction.

I've just seen a couple of guilds who made it their mission to go to every private place they could find and then use /yell or /1 or something to mock people if they found someone there, even if the people were obviously in a private chat, /tell or /group. To me, that's just stupid, when people actually do the work of going to a private place AND use a private channel, I really don't see a reason to make a big deal out of it.

While too much ERP can be harmful to a community, sure, so can everything done too much. ERP in itself is not harmful, at least not how I see it, it's only when it becomes the only thing people focus on, and that goes for everything, if people only focus on... baking applepie, that would probably be a problem too...
