Tiny little thing, supposedly, barely enough gil to hire an adventurer, especially with the recent bandit problems tha' they've 'ad. Poor buggers..." Fen smiled, "Bu' you lot seemed off somewhere, too. Y'lost, too? Not runnin' low on water, are you?"

The young Hyur going by the name of, Marick had been mullingover everything, from being offered a spot in the Grand Company known as The Immortal Flames; itâ€™s not like he was put off by the idea, more so he felt undeserving. It was almost as if he had this sense of impending doom should he accept the position. He had an inkling that heâ€™d start at the bottom, yet what else did he had coming for him; a never ending run at being a Gladiator, with no experience in doing anything but? It was strange as he stepped through the rolling and shifting sands of the Sagolii, he pondered on so much that he would easily miss a slight movement; the young man had a fresh face, overly fresh as if he hadnâ€™t seen an ounce of combat, but unfortunately scars upon that â€˜freshâ€™ face took away any misconceptions. He had hazel hues that held the warmest of gazes at all times, even during times of distress they stayed the shame, never shaking under the weight of disdainful situations. His cropped deep purple colored locks blew against the sand stirring breeze which came from his right; he had nary a clue to where he trekked, he just knew heâ€™d find his way back to Ulâ€™Dah should he have to. Marickâ€™s outfit didnâ€™t suggest that he was ready for the heat; he wore a red trench coat, a buckle holding it just below the collar, the tail coming down just to his thighs barely covering the bronze boots and shin guards he had. The same with his sleeves, he wore bronze gauntlets that traveled up to his elbow leaving room to bend his arm completely. On his left hip he had, with much visibility, a spatha; a shortsword perfect for stabbing a ladybug. It was a great weapon, and versatile for his use. Upon his back was a round, maple shield with markings on it; the object almost felt empowering. His stumbling around while mindlessly examining himself led him to a rather unfortunate event; one misstep caused him to stagger, and eventually tumble forward in an awful barreling down a rather large rock; it was comical really, his fall, but it still hurt immensely. To add to the humor his yelp as he tripped was a loud:

â€œYikes!â€

And as he fell there were a numerous amount of gruntsaccompanied by loud thuds against rock. When he landed upon the ground, he met a face full of gritty sand; some of it being forcefully stuffed into his mouth;

â€œAgah!â€

He gagged uncomfortably. He instantaneously sat up, spittaking; the sand shooting from his mouth while he effortlessly attempted to rid his tongue of left over grains,

â€œBahâ€¦Blahâ€¦Gath thith sucksh!â€ (God this sucks)

Once he finished with his sanitizing, he found himselfsitting without a worry; maybe it was a lengthy delay on realization, his legs crossing at his calves with his hands just in between his thighs. His expression was altogether unaltered, even though he obviously noticed the five strange eye drawing beings, three Miqoâ€™te individuals and two Elezens. The situation, as he gathered, was already simmering from a bit of tension; he didnâ€™t really speak, but a quiet sigh could be heard from him. Marick simply sat there a mix between dumbfounded, and calmness; calmness being more overt.

â€œSomeone started a partyâ€¦And didn't even- invite-...Me.â€œ

There goes his incessant need to intrude verbally, if he was or not,it still needed to be quieted; he gave a sheepish, nearly embarrassing smile. He even closed his eyes, which was an attempt to not see any notes of idiocy being pointed at him through the tiny crowdâ€™s expressions.

â€œI seem to have stumbled onâ€¦A get together? F-Forgive me, Iâ€™dget up, but you see I just splatted on the ground; my legs hurt. Soâ€¦You might have to mo-â€œ

Marick cuts himself off a second times, though he alreadysaw the cat-like ears that all Miqoâ€™te possess, he obviously adored the ears; the closest Miqoâ€™te to him (Kâ€™nahli) would be the first to receive this gesture of adoration,

â€œKitty ears?! SO cute!â€

His eyes figuratively lit up with hearts, he absolutely lovedcats coupled with the fact that she was a girl; the Miqoâ€™te made up those he admittedly spoke to when he had no room to do so in the first place. However, he caught himself in that moment, quieting down for the last time; the situation was already awkward enough, added by his sudden mishap of stumbling upon the small conversing group and obvious strange outward affection towards the Miqoâ€™teâ€™s (Kâ€™nahliâ€™s) cat-like ears.

("Li'ir?") K'nahli thought silently to herself, her eyes briefly scanning across the crystal-clear, Thanalan sky before falling to study the visible landscape beyond some of the low-lying dunes, as she began to pinpoint their location so that she may direct the man towards his destination. Her thoughts were interrupted by the man's question that he delivered with a smile a moment later.

("Lost?")

K'nahli drew her eyes to a brief close as she dipped her head lightly, giving it a gentle shake as answer to the male. She reopened them slowly, her irises shimmering charmingly as the moonlight collected softly against them.

"No, we... were meeting with a few of our tribekin further north. We were on our way home when... well.. you know the rest" she elaborated, her eyes drifting away from the male as she reached the end of her sentence.

Her eyes returned to him once again as she remembered his second question.

"Umm..." she began, her eyes falling towards K'mih as she contemplated the offer on her behalf.

"My sis-..." K'nahli started before being interrupted by the wails of yet another person who had stumbled into the area and began tumbling down towards them from a dune, similar to that of the entrance of the male she had just been addressing. She watched the man, her eyes wide in disbelief as he came to a stop at their feet and began rambling to himself in frustration. She placed a hand firmly across her temple, massaging it harshly as she felt a headache beginning to set in with all of the events that had occurred within a short space of time. She was so tired... yet the twelve seemingly would not grant her rest soon enough this night.

She paused. Her motion stopping as her ears pricked up firmly in response to the newly arrived male's final uttering. Surely she hadn't heard him correctly. She reopened her eyes once more only to find the man ogling her, or rather her ears, an assurance that she had not been not mistaken. She recoiled in shock, hoisting her arm upwards and bracing it across her upper body as if to protect herself.

"Ar-Are... are you kidding me?" she stuttered in response as she winced down at the male in horror, taking half a step backwards as she did so.

Fen blinked to the new man before sighing, "Great, we've got a loonie. Oy, mate, 'ow long 'ave you gone withou' water? Feelin' sick? Lightheaded? Seein' things?" He glanced to the Miqo'te trio and shrugged helplessly.

As soon as the mysterious Miqo'te's expression changed, K'mih's did as well. Her smile faded, replaced by something akin concern.Â It was clear that something was wrong even before he spoke.

"Y-your parents...?"

TheÂ idea of being away from her family, lost in such a big world, was unthinkable for a young mind like hers.Â JustÂ trying to imagine such a situation would break her brain. For a moment, K'mih's open eyes moved to her sister with a naive, pitiful look; almost like a plead.Â Nothing much was known about the strange Miqo'te's situation, but if his parents were anywhere in the desert, perhaps there was anything they could do to help him?

Her thoughts didn't get time to be voiced, however, for something impacted violently against the sand.

"Kyaa!"

This time, K'mih hid behind the chocobo, merely because it was the closest support she could find. The peekÂ her wide open eyesÂ took afterwards revealed what looked like a male hyur, a very excited one who suddenly and surprisingly called her sister cute. That alone managed to dispel a considerable amount of fear from her, albeit it also contributed to her growing confusion.

As the young girl hid behind the chocobo. A soft 'Kweh' was heard from the chocobo as the arrival of a newcomer with a rather harsh fall took place, the crimson red Miqo'te reached within his own attire seemingly gripping something. After hearing the man's first words he shook his head.

The carbuncle remained silent upon the girl's shoulder, rubbing it's head into her cheek as if trying to comfort her from the fear that was rushing through her, if she was to look closely at the side of the chocobo below some of the traveler satchels was a single shield with a sword somewhat hidden.

"Unfortunately yes. It's a long story."Â

He'd say with a lightly saddened tone as his gaze shifted from the new arrival back to her, even though his tone sounded saddened he kept a light smile present upon his lips.
