Well, I've done a good bit of roleplay on MMORPG's in the past but none that wasn't ad-hoc, so I'm afraid I'm finding my feet. Â For now I'll be relying a lot on templates and such I guess. Â So, let's see..

--Why do you like to RP?
I suppose the main reason I like to roleplay is I have a certain thing for the inherent value of any given creative construct.. that is, a story, a setting, or more often a character. Â Roleplay allows me to increase that inherent value by playing my creations off the creations of other people, thus increasing their inherent value of both my characters and of the characters around me, as well as the setting in which they exist, by virtue of experiences and stories that I could not possibly have come up with alone.
... In other words I guess you could say I'm a bit of a continuity nut.
Basic Info:
--Characters (in Final Fantasy XIV):
Forra Descren, T'aemi Kesrin, Rorina Rokiku, Hana Pendant
--Current primary linkshell:
None at Present
RP Preferences:
--RP style
I suppose my roleplay style could be described as moderate-heavy, though I don't really know enough about how those classifications work around here to elaborate too much right now.
--Are you willing to RP a fight scene in game? If so, preferred method of combat?
I'm very willing, but it's not my greatest skill without a structured system running alongside. Â Generally however I will do my level-best whatever mode of combat's used. Â That said, a well-played scuffle can be quite the joy to participate in.
--Are you willing to take major injuries in game? (ie limb loss, comas, etc.)
If storyline demands. Â I'd prefer my characters not be getting regularly maimed left right and centre if at all possible, but if there's reason for a serious injury I'll generally be more than happy to play out the consequences.
--Under what circumstances, if any, would you allow your character to be killed off?
Generally this is something I'd like to avoid where possible. Â If it's a result of a really, really good story and it seems as if the death is both appropriate and well played, or I feel that to not die would devalue my character, I will certainly give it serious consideration. Â That said, do forgive me if I hang onto the character object, either for playing about with out-of-character, or should the opportunity to reboot it without doing anyone else bother comes along, or some other similarly appropriate reason.
--Are you willing to RP romance in game? How far are you willing to go?
Yes, I am; in fact I think I'd rather like the idea so long as it doesn't feel forced. Â And I suppose I'm willing to play as far as feels appropriate with regard to continuity and everyone present's comfortable with.
--What kind of non-romantic RP relationships are you seeking? (family ties, etc)
Again, basically whatever feels appropriate. Â If it somehow occurs through roleplay or feels comfortable being assumed to have always been the case after a decent discussion, I should be all for it.
--How far from the actual lore are you willing to stray?
Generally not far. Â If it makes sense within the established lore but has no actual canonical support, then it's fine by me. Â I'll be uncomfortable contradicting a previously set precedent, however, and I think I'd have problems with situations directly contradict official lore unless I've agreed to be part of some other, separate thematic framework beforehand.
--Views on chat functions (IC vs OOC in /party, /linkshell, /say)?
Let's see...
/say is generally always in-character for me, unless established as out of character beforehand, with some form of brackets (usually either (()) or []) denoting OOC asides.
/party is pretty context sensitive, but over long distances without good, established IC reason? Â Probably OOC.
/linkshell Eh, the lore treats linkshells as in-character, so for me, in character unless otherwise stated.
/tell Usually OOC unless otherwise stated (or representing a whisper).
--Will most of your RP be confined in a single linkshell or will you try to RP with as many as possible?
Probably I'll roleplay in or with any feel appropriate and don't force me to do something nasty like contradict my character's own continuity.
--How do you prefer to be contacted? (PM or post in this thread)
I suppose by PMs. Â At least, that's the most likely means of catching me anyway, though I'll very likely check back for replies in this thread regularly enough anyway out of sheer curiosity.
