[1:00]Berrod Armstrong sat and assumed a rather serious countenance of observation. The man was prepared to drink in the fight and read every last movement.

[1:01]Jadoth Bloodreign gazes at the two combatants, his eyes sparkling with awe. He looks like he just might be going into full fanboy mode.

[1:01]Judge Jredthys: "IT WOULD NOT BE PROPER TO FIGHT MOUNTED AGAINST NON IN THIS SITUATION."
[1:01]Maya Kazumi: 'He actually dismounted! I didn't know he could without aid!'
[1:01]Judge Jredthys: "JUDGE JREDTHYS. JUDGEBLADE 'VERDICT.'"

[1:02]Warren Castille fights a grin. It's been too long! He draws his weapon and settles into a lose stance, testing the heft of the blade.
[1:02]John Waterstrike: Good luck to both of you.
[1:02]Berrod Armstrong: "He better fight his hardest. If he pulls any o'that modesty shite we're gonna have a quarrel."
[1:02]Judge Jredthys unsheaths his blade and embeds it in the ground in front of him, one hand resting lightly atop it.
[1:02]Percival Turner: "The million gil match begins..."
[1:03]Sei' Castille: "Warren?Â He knows better."
[1:03]An'zero Tia: "I kind of want to see Warren win personally."

[1:04]John Waterstrike glance over at Berrod.Â "He would dishonor Judge if he didn't put all of his ability into this battle."
[1:04]Warren Castille looks the Judge over. More heavily armored than himself, bigger weapon than himself. Hm. Hmmm. He raises his shield and takes a tentative step forward, then tests the Judge's reaction to a telegraphed opening swing.
[1:05]Maya Kazumi cheers you on!
[1:05]Judge Jredthys tilts Verdict in the dirt, moving to catch the opening swing. He counters immediately, his free hand striking for Warren's face in a sharp jab.
[1:05]Jadoth Bloodreign tugs at Aya's sleeve, pointing excitedly at the fight. "I want a sword like that!"
[1:05]Sei' Castille winces a little at that, seeing metal flying at her husband's face.
[1:06]Aya Donovan laughs softly. "Just be careful with it!"
[1:06]Kaguya Nightsong winced as well before shifting her attention to Sei. "I hope you have ice available at your residence for your husband."
[1:06]John Waterstrike winces himself at the move Judge pulls.
[1:06]Berrod Armstrong showed no pity -- instead his eyes roamed Judge's form; his weight distribution and the fulcrums of his motion. Yes good. -Data-.
[1:07]Sei' Castille: "Nope, but I have healers here that'll patch him up.Â He wouldn't be fighting if I were worried about his pretty face getting messed up permanently."
[1:07]Warren Castille didn't expect to see the Judge counter with a -punch-. Still, with the shield right there he lifts it to protect himself... And it surprised when he is shoved back an ilm or two in the dust. There's a thunderous boom as metal strikes metal, and then the combat begins in earnest. A second is surprise is allowed, followed by Warren's next attack in the form of the his sword flashing for the Judge's helmet.
[1:07]Jadoth Bloodreign: ... Oh, I will. I don't think I'll ever be able to afford anything that fancy, though... the glowing one is, well, glowing - but the other one... it's almost as tall as me, I think!
[1:08]Maya Kazumi: 'Oh my goodness, this fight is exciting!'
[1:08]Aya Donovan: "I think it might be taller."
[1:08]Jadoth Bloodreign: ... Maybe he'll let me stand next to it after the fight!
[1:08]Yasashii Borlaaq: "I want a glowing sword like that.."
[1:09]Aya Donovan: "That's a strange request."
[1:10]Judge Jredthys | The hit connects solidly, tilting the Judge sideways a bit at the impact. Before he straightens, however... the helmet falls off and clatters to the ground. Red eyes glimmer with cold calculation as he uses his recovering momentum for another punch, this one coming in at a wide arc for Warren's cheek.
[1:10]Maya Kazumi looks at you in surprise.
[1:10]Jadoth Bloodreign: I wanted to see if his sword's taller than me, that's all.
[1:10]Aya Donovan: "... Huh, so he does have a head under there."
[1:10]Nergui Mol: "He....he is so....dreamy/
[1:11]Nergui Mol looks at you in shock!
[1:11]Jadoth Bloodreign: I thought he was just a really loud suit of armor.
[1:11]Yasashii Borlaaq: "..Hnnh.."
[1:11]Sei' Castille: "... Huh, so he's an old horned guy under there."
[1:12]Berrod Armstrong paused in his levity to frown at the match. "...well, I'm glad there's -somethin'- under there. Got to thinkin' he was another Ghost Forge."
[1:12]Maya Kazumi: 'Is... is he an Au Ra?'
[1:12]S'elene Cehter: "All I want is to Warren knock off Judge's helmet."
[1:12]Warren Castille seems the punch incoming and realizes he won't have a better chance to do something any more stupid. Abandoning his sword and shield, he step-turns into Judge's body and attempts to let Judge's momentum carry through, up and over the highlander's shoulder. It's not his wisest move, but there's not going to be a better time to knock the big man off of his feet.
[1:13]Renata Lynn: "Inever stopped toÂ tohink there might be a face under that helmet...." she whispers.
[1:13]S'elene Cehter: "Some people affirm he is just an animated piece of armor and that nobody evern saw his face..."
[1:13]John Waterstrike mouth drops open.Â Judge was an Au Ra... then frown, why didn't he tell them he was an Au Ra.Â John's face look hurt at the fact they weren't trusted after all this time.
[1:13]Sei' Castille bites back a surprised gasp - was Warren looking to toss that heap of armor?
[1:13]S'elene Cehter: "... Other people say he was borne already wearing armor, in the middle of a battle."
[1:13]Rulian Kalian cheers Warren Castille on!
[1:14]Nergui Mol has his hands on his face looking like something between shocked and amazed.
[1:14]Kaguya Nightsong snorted with a small grin. "This match is much better then a half naked woman with a whip."
[1:14]Berrod Armstrong murmured quietly. "Fall under 'im, push off, -move-."
[1:14]Maya Kazumi would have been on the edge of her seat if she was sitting down. As it stands she just leans forward awkwardly, holding her glasses in one hand.
[1:15]S'elene Cehter: "And I was waiting for him to have another helmet under the first."
[1:16]Judge Jredthys would prove to be horrendously heavy, but the momentum would help Warren greatly. Up and over he goes, landing flat on his dise. His eyes are still locked onto Warren, however, and a powerful swipe of his arm seeks to either force the Highlander off his feet as well... or force some distance between them.
[1:18]Warren Castille didn't have a plan beyond "throw," and it's obvious when Judge's arm barrels into him. It shoves him off balance and forces them apart, but that's only fair - This is honorable combat. Taking a deep breath, Warren paces away to allow the Judge his footing once again. Then he'd attack, but not before.
[1:18]Berrod Armstrong 's face showed nothing short of complete exasperation.
[1:18]Sei' Castille grimaces as well, shooting Warren an annoyed look.
[1:18]Judge Jredthys eyes Warren, and climbs to his feet, again resting his hand lightly on the pommel of his sword.
[1:19]Berrod Armstrong: "Bastard, throwin' a way a perfect openin'...what the hell'd he throw 'im for if not ta -get 'im down-?"
[1:19]Nergui Mol: "THIS IS SO EXCITING!"
[1:19]Kaguya Nightsong quirked a brow at Warren allowing Judge to get up. She was starting to wonder if that would be the downfall of the match
[1:19]Sei' Castille: "Must be some dumb knight thing."
1:19]Sei' Castille waves a dismissive hand, even though technically she's a dumb knight thing too.
[1:19]Jadoth Bloodreign watches, starry-eyed and awestruck. Yup, he's fanboying. Someone pinch him.
[1:19]Kaguya Nightsong: "Indeed, seems a Knight's honor or something. I am uncertain."
[1:19]Maya Kazumi: 'It's lovely to see a fight that actually follows the rules of engagement!'

[1:20]Maya Kazumi: 'The laws of honourable combat, basically.'
[1:20]Warren Castille nods, either reassuring himself or in acknowledgment of the battle. He begins his approach again, raising his sword over his head and using his second hand to balance it, then crosses and attempts to muscle his way in, hoping to somehow sweep those giant iron legs out from under the Overseer.
[1:21]Julius Bennett: "Whomever spent the million Gil, it was money well spent."
[1:21]An'zero Tia: "They...seems tacticly impractical."
[1:21]Kaguya Nightsong frowned at the miss. "Looks like this is the downfall."
[1:21]Maya Kazumi: 'The point of them is to win with honour, not underhanded tricks or unfair advantages.'
[1:22]Maya Kazumi: 'I'd expect no less from these two!'
[1:22]Maya Kazumi practically swoons.
[1:22]An'zero Tia: "...Ya...how dare someone...fight with....tricks...and advantages...."....
[1:22]Judge Jredthys raises his foot, stomping it down on the blade mid-swing with all the force of one of his judgements. It was coupled with an underarm punch with his free hand, seeking out the man's armored gut - seeming to not care at all about the plating there.
[1:22]Berrod Armstrong still looked -annoyed-.
[1:23]An'zero Tia would quickly make sure his knives were hidden and stuff his gun away...whistling innocently for a moment.
[1:23]Nergui Mol had two brightly colored paper fans, one in each hand, and was fanning himself with such intensity from the heat of this epic confrontation.
[1:23]Maya Kazumi: 'Of course, in real battle the rules of engagement aren't quite as important, but in a spar like this?'
[1:24]An'zero Tia: "I consider duels and spars to be seperate. Spars? Go nuts and have fun without killing the other person? Duels? Those are where the honor goes."
[1:24]Warren Castille loses the sword under Judge's foot, opting to release it instead of letting it get broken in half from the stomp. The punch lands, and he certainly feels it, but there's enough armor there to respond for now. Maybe not in the future. Without a sword or shield, and in his close range, Warren opted for the only remaining attack: Grasping the chestplate of the larger man's armor, he leapt up and tried to deliver a headbutt. Those work at the Grindstone, right?
[1:27]An'zero Tia winces..."That had to hurt..."
[1:27]Judge Jredthys | The sound of skull hitting skull reverberates across the Wash. There is a silence for a moment. Red eyes burn into Warren's from behind a cracked lens. Then a voice. Still powerful, still strong, but without the magnification and reverb of his helmet. "Three solid hits. I yield. The victory is yours, Arbiter."

[1:28]Maya Kazumi shows Warren Castille her uncontainable jubilation!
[1:28]Sei' Castille: "Warren is victorious - the Judge yields!"

[1:28]Judge Jredthys pulls his blade from the ground and hoists it over his shoulder so it actually matches his pose.

[1:28]Kaguya Nightsong: "Again, one million well worth spent."
[1:28]Nergui Mol lets out a cheer.
[1:28]Maya Kazumi cheers you on!
[1:28]Rulian Kalian: "A splendid fight! If you would not mind, Warren Castille. I would like to duel against you."
[1:28]Warren Castille met Judge's glare, but there's an obvious sigh of relief. He immediately reaches for his head with one hand, the other going to his stomach where the punch landed. "Oh thank the Twelve almighty...!"
[1:29]Julius Bennett: "...weeellllllllll worth it."
[1:29]An'zero Tia: "That was spectaculer!"
[1:29]Judge Jredthys: "Your title is well-earned."
[1:29]Berrod Armstrong finally smiled again. "They're gonna feel that in the mornin'."
[1:29]Sei' Castille picks up Judge's shucked helmet, holding it out to him.
[1:29]S'elene Cehter claps for Warren Castille.
[1:30]An'zero Tia: "That, was certainly something."
[1:30]Judge Jredthys takes the helmet and sets it neatly on his head again. "MY THANKS."
[1:30]Rulian Kalian smiles at Warren Castille.
[1:30]Rulian Kalian: "Well fought. Both of you."
[1:30]Nergui Mol: "No don't put it back on! Awwww....well, it was brief but beautiful
[1:30]John Waterstrike comes over, "Warren," eyeing the other with a healer's eye.Â Hand is reaching out to try and deal with any injuries that Warren might have, and not looking at Judge with his hurt expression.
[1:30]Nergui Mol is utterly disappointed.
[1:30]Warren Castille: "Thank you, Judge. You're... hells, I think you wear the armor to protect -us-."
[1:31]An'zero Tia: "Good fight you two."
[1:31]Berrod Armstrong offered Nergui a canteen of water, quite plain-faced.
[1:31]Judge Jredthys: "... IN A SENSE."
[1:31]Sei' Castille goes and clings to Warren's arm, embracing it tightly to herself, though she stays out of John's way.Â "A wonderful fight you two - and uh, I didn't doubt you at all, Warren...!"Â She bites back a laugh at her obvious lie.Â She knows his record as well as he does.
[1:31]Nergui Mol takes the water and drinks it. Sobbing.
[1:31]Warren Castille: "I doubted me the whole time. Have you seen this guy?"
[1:32]Berrod Armstrong nodded once and glanced at the pair.
[1:32]John Waterstrike: Good match, Sir Warren...Sir Judge...
[1:33]Flameson Hammersmith fished another dog-end cigar out from behind his ear and lit that one with the remains of the one in his maw.Â Which was then tossed away and replaced with the 'new', half burnt one. "Alright.Â Show's over.Â Time fir trouble."
[1:33]Judge Jredthys: "IT WAS INTERESTING SEEING THE ARBITER IN COMBAT."
[1:34]John Waterstrike pulls back his glowing hand, having seek heal on Warren.
[1:34]Sei' Castille: "And you too as well, Judge."
[1:34]Rulian Kalian nods to you.
[1:34]An'zero Tia: "He should fight more often."
[1:34]Jadoth Bloodreign: Hey, Judge! Can I... uh, stand next to your sword? My friend thinks it's taller than me and I want to find out if she's right!
[1:34]Judge Jredthys: "IF YOU MUST."
[1:34]Warren Castille had some bruises, and the medical attention clears them up in a heartbeat. "Thank you. I still think it hurts, but it's... fixed."
[1:35]John Waterstrike bows courteously to Warren Castille.
[1:35]John Waterstrike: "I try my best, Warren."
[1:35]Rulian Kalian: "THis has been the most spectacular Grindstone yet. THank you for having me."
[1:35]Sei' Castille shoots the Judge a thoughtful glance - then suppresses a yawn.Â "It's late for me, ladies and gentlemen - you all have a good night."Â She lazily salutes with the whiskey bottle and gives Warren's arm a light pat before heading off.

[1:35]Berrod Armstrong: "Rest well, fellas. Good stuff. Well, mostly."

[2:01]John Waterstrike hand glows green as he place it on Judge's knee.Â He doesn't push, letting his aether flow out and into Judge, taking care or any pain or bruises.Â "Does that help?"
[2:02]Judge Jredthys: "MY BACK FEELS MUCH LESS SORE, AS DOES MY FOREHEAD. MY THANKS."
[2:03]Judge Jredthys lightly taps at the base of his back with one fist. A very old man sort of gesture.
[2:03]John Waterstrike pulls his hand back.Â "Then have a good rest, Judge, and safe trip home.Â I'll see you next week."Â Eyes look hopefully up at the Older Au Ra.
[2:04]Judge Jredthys: "OF COURSE."
[2:05]John Waterstrike nods and give Bench a gentle pat.Â "Look after your partner, Bench.Â I wish to see you both in good health next week."Â Steps back so that he can call Safire to him.
[2:06]John Waterstrike bows courteously to you.
[2:06]Judge Jredthys | Bench tilts his head to eye the Miqo'te. Whether the warhorse understands or not is hard to say. It remains unmoved as John calls his own mount.

Aw man. Now I feel bad that I had Corelyn take off so I could play Boardgame Online. X-D That looks like it was epic as hell.

The whole night seemed to be pretty hot. There was a lot of fun chatter from a lot of different groups there, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves! It felt like a big marquee event thanks to the crowd.

In my head, I was basically treating it like a Pay-Per-View wrestling special, and it feels to me like it delivered. I feel a bit guilty for sort of making Warren/Judge a focal point, but we didn't want to put it off another week, and we couldn't do it while people were still fighting the normal matches!

While waiting on the end of the tournament to wind down, I'll bump this by pointing out that we set a new attendance record for fighters tonight: 41 people got in line to beat each other up tonight!
