Honestly for me Battle Network and Legends are the best megamans.

you really won't find a strat heavy or tech heavy game like battle network vs mode. Absolutely A1 stuff there.

And quite honestly in the Megaman Universe I can't say I've ever had an affinity for Megaman(the character) I'm Bass fan absolutely to the core ( As well as Vava in X, and Juno in legends. ))

Jump and shoot man does have my respect though, because while he may not be as Strong as robots like Bass, his ability to outwit them is what makes him so amazing.

Do love me some Forte and Gospel. That was my fav cheat code for 7 was the Forte code. I do love legends quite a bit.

You also forgot about both Power Battles and Power fighters. PF has a super good soundtrack. And IIRC is using CPS3 Soundfont which is godlike.

Legends 1 and 2 were amazing. My favorite mainline game is probably a tossup between MM2 and MM3. I was having amazing fun playing through the NES games on the PS4 Anniversary Collection before getting sucked into Dragon Quest Heroes and Tales. I need to get back to clearing out those challenges, the best part of the game. I recorded some videos of them. Fair warning: there's plenty of rust on my MM skills I haven't fully shaken off yet.

Favorite song has to be Dr. Wily's Castle from MM2.

I also have to say that 9 is just below 2 and 3 for me. It's a truly amazing Mega Man game, which was such a pleasant surprise when it came out a few years back. As an aside, 9 has my favorite Robot Master in terms of aesthetics and stage music:

10 wasn't nearly as good, though I wouldn't say it's a BAD Mega Man. Certainly many, many times better than 5 and 6.

This is true. I haven't had the chance to play it but that seems to be the consensus.

*NERD RAGES ON NOT SEEING LEGENDS ON THE VOTE POLL*

I like Legends 1, 2, and X1~X6 as well as Megaman 2, 5,6, and 7 and some Power Battle arcades.

Also I like Zero series (even though they are mad annoyingly hard)

I was rather upset to hear that legacy collection didn't include 7~10, Megaman and Bass and Power Battles. Those were really great asset to the collection anyways :c

First: MM2
Favorite: X4
Best: X

I've been replaying the originals in my 3DS and buster dueling everything possible. I can't no-hit all of the bosses yet (Fuck Drill Man so hard, fuck Quick Man even harder) but it's satisfying to clear bosses with just reflexes.

I've been noodling which one to play, if any, for Extra Life this year. I did 4 last year (and ended it with the Kill Doc Wily glitch) and did 2 the year before it.

Edit: Actual Favorite After Thinking About it: Maverick Hunter X. It's a god damned shame that that series got the plug pulled.

I gave up on that achievement, and I still wonder to myself how my friend is able to do them so easily. ._.

Also I kind of wonder how many people DID like X7.

I'm a huge classic Megaman fan and I played each one as it came out starting with the Original on NES.

Out of all the classic Megaman games, Megaman X1 and Megaman 2 are my favorites. They have the best balance of soundtrack, gameplay, weapon variety, and difficulty. And for me personally, Megaman X1 is just a masterpiece and the perfect example of how one does a jump to the next generation sequel.

Stealing Manari's post because I'd really only add Megaman 3, 9, and X4 to what's noted here. There was actually a brief period of time growing where I was banned from the old 'Nintendo hard' classic Megaman games because they incited some controller throwing fits in little me. Now I just yell lots of profanity instead. Big Grin

Also crazy bonus points for including Megaman Soccer on the poll. I WISH we could get a current gen remake.
