Dont' worry about males. Final Fantasy male protagonists tend to be femmy or prettyboys anyways.

That's pretty true. Except Vivi. And I still consider Vivi the main character of IX. I refuse to accept Zidane as the main character. Unacceptable!

I love it! Great stuff.. really. I <3 your style ^^ Love the pictures of Ren too..
And Steiner was the main character of FF9! .... Well, maybe not but I still loved him. Him and Vivi both.. Zidane was fun too, though. Especially after putting up with Squall Character: Undecided.

Hrm, I never could bring myself to play IX.
I was immediately dissapointed, Zidane is an awful character. I'd almost want to say that I hate him. Couldn't bring myself to play it after seeing what he was like, knowing that I'd have to play as that. Eurgh, let's not bring that up again please. Renaise Wrote:.... Wow! I do think Final Fantasy tends to portray men as elegant since you rarely see the musclebound types casting magic.
Auron and Snow were some of their experiments I think. Snow is a favourite of mine though he did obsess over his girlfriend a bit 'too' much. I feel that he was there to balance out the cutish/beautiful types the majority of FF13 had. Hence the reason why I'm gonna be playing a Roegadyn come launch, I gotta be there to balance out the other races. Plus I like their intensity. Drawing one of them would be a challenge. (and yeah, Zidane was stupid) EDIT: forgot the compliment the 2nd set of pictures. I like the little height comparison you did with your character in one ;p |

Seriously, that's the most adorable I've ever seen Ren look. It's awesome!
I agree that you're probably going to start seeing some commission requests come in once open beta starts. |

Tagyr Wrote:I do think Final Fantasy tends to portray men as elegant since you rarely see the musclebound types casting magic. I think final fantasy's portrayal of men is... not so great! The leads are all so wimpy lookin', it's not good at all. I never played IX, or XII simply because the lead males are so unappealing! I think XIII had some nice guys in it, Snow like you said. I also really liked Sazh though, he actually gave off a good father-ish feeling, and he didn't come across as trying to be manly or heroic (although his role as comic-relief black guy was less than fantastic). I'd like to learn how to use my tablet so that i could colour stuff, unfortunately i can't get used to it, I'd also like to be able to draw manly men! Roegadyn are cool, i like the way they look, but i don't think i could play as one. |

Most of those games its best to ignore the main characters and focus on the badass supporting cast.
Amarant Steiner Freya and my favourite, Beatrix With 12 it was much the same, best to ignore Vaan, he's not the bloody main character anyway its definitely Balthier... and that guy is many shades of awesome |

The Beatrix/Steiner storyline was amazing. I loved it. And Snow was one of the few male designs they've had that I really like...well...I guess I can't leave out the two male designs they did that are my favorites.
Edgar and Sabin Figaro. Somehow neither of them are overly feminine. |

Thats just another reason why I love FF6 so much. The lead is a woman, so the whole 'feminine' aspect actually works for the lead on that one.
On another note, I officially have three fav. artists in the RPC, and you are one of them, that's for damn sure. I'd love to see a team of artists in the RPC get together and make a webcomic based on the roleplayers of FFXIV (something that could work in conjunction with the Eorzea 'Tribune' ((on whatever it ends up being called)) Whatever the case, in the future, I'm sure I'll commission some of you fine ladies to do some Brin artwork. |
