The release of patch 2.1 introduced a wealth of new content such as the Crystal Tower 24-man raid, player versus player battles in the Wolvesâ€™ Den, new extreme encounters with the primals, further developments in the main scenario and much, much more! Since weâ€™re excited for even more players to experience everything that FFXIV has to offer weâ€™ve decided to host a limited time Free Login Weekend!

If you have friends that played FINAL FANTASY XIV version 1.0 or FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, please be sure to invite them to join you this weekend!

Hmm. =) That's neat. I feel like maybe two days isn't quite enough time for people to get a feel for if they want to come back/try the game, but it's something. I'd give'em a longer period. Maybe not something quite as long as the recent 'Return to Vana'diel Campaign' that FFXI had, but ..

Still, neat.

Quick edit: Wow. It was late last night when I read this. The free weekend is three days, not two.

My sub ends Friday 10 - so this is actually pretty sweet, will use those days to play, then get my sub back on the Monday (hahaha).
