Is it restricted to the races/beastmen? Could a duck have the echo?

At least as far as getting the Echo from Hydaelyn, I'm under the assumption that it'd require a creature capable of both sentience and sapience. So "enlightened man" (the main races), people, beast tribes, etc.
A duck would likely not have the capacity for thought required process hearing Her voice. ...I'm not sure if say, Matoya's magicked brooms or poroggos would be capable of having the Echo, as their mental capacities were granted through magic. The same for clockwork entities like a mammet or doll.

Much to Raimdelle's disappointment, ducks are not Spoken creatures and would likely not have access to the Echo, like Franz was saying.
