The trio opened the door to the Bismark and saw a Miqo'te leaning over Shamad. The Lalafell ran forward and stopped the blade just in time. The Miqo'te jumped back and hissed “He must die!†The other two ran forward just in time to get stabbed in the legs. They spun around and whipped their swords out. They looked down at the Lalafells with blood on their daggers. They stabbed them in the head and died. The last of the trio and the Miqo'te attacker started wrestling. They knocked Shamad off his stool. He woke up slowly. He heard a yowl and looked over to see the Lalafell stick the Miqo'te's knife in her chest. Shamad grabbed the pendant off her neck. The Lalafell grabbed Shamad and ran out of the tavern. Shamad was dragged to the Drowning Wench. They ran up to the inn and into a room. Shamad was thrown on the bed. He passed out immediately.
When he woke up several hours later, his face hurt and the other Lalafell was staring at him.
"Why does my face hurt?"
"Because I've been punching you for the past few hours."
"Why? What have I done to do deserve being punched in the face repeatedly?"
"You got my partners killed. I need to know why! I was punching you to wake you up. Plus it felt good!"
"I understand...I think. How did I get them killed exactly?"
"The one who was going to kill you had two partners it would seem. They stabbed both of my partners in the leg. I suspect they used poison on their blades. They all died too quickly for it to be anything else. I barely scratched your attacker. They were coming after you specifically. I want to know why."
"Ok. Fine. We'll need to go back to the Bismark first. But first I need your name. I can't just call you He-Who-Punches-Me."
"It's Alantin. Let's go."
They left the Drowning Wench inn and walked to the Bismark. Shamad led Alantin around the corner and pointed at a vomit encrusted stone. "The explanation is under there." Shamad dug up the stone and retrieved the contents of the hole. They left the stone where it was. They ran to middle level of the Mizzenmast. They took a table and sat down. Shamad pulled out the notes and necklaces. He explained everything that had happened to him. He kept the ring to himself. He didn't think Alantin would approve or allow him to pursue the Crimson Blades. Alantin nodded throughout. "So we need to kill these people? How do we find them?" Shamad touched the two pendants he had. "With these. I can sense a direction to go when I hold them. I have no idea what we find there though. Can't be good." Alantin nodded. "Let's wait here for a while. We can decide in a week. It will give you some time to grieve too. I'll arrange a room for us." Shamad nodded and sat back. He ordered some food and contemplated his ring. He had to make a decision. It was going to be difficult either way.
