Hello everyone. As the title suggest I have been Roleplaying through various games for the last ten years. My Rp days first started a few months before The Burning Crusade came out for the World of Warcraft. I just stopped playing WoW naught but a month or two ago. I've Rped my way through Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. I spent a good year in Star Wars the Old Republic as well as any number of smaller odd ball MMO's, rping through countless stories with hundreds of characters.

Today I start to play FFXIV. I do not care for levels. To me lvl 1 is the beginning of a characters story. I do not care for grinding, the only kinds I do are the long hours enjoying a good story with fellow Rpers. I do not care about the end game, no story truly ends.
In short? I only care about Rp.

That said I'm not hardcore.... anymore. Now I'm just an old man who likes to take a role in a good story.

I'm new to this game and I'm lost in it's cities. I can't stop staring at the water and the sky in awe. I find myself examining every detail, every shade of color, every bit of code and all I can think is how excited I am to get on here just to say 'wow. I can't wait to share a new story in this new world.'

So if you see me please don't be shy to walk up and say 'Hi, how are you?' I'll be on Balmung and I hope to see all of you under it's skies.

Welcome to the RPC Solverus,

You'll find many of us are like Faye, open to a hello in game if you see us passing by. I spent the majority of my roleplaying experience (in mmos) in WoW as well, did you have a particular server? I used to stay primarily on Steamwheedle Cartle (after Twisting Nether and Wyrmrest Accord didn't pan out.)

A few links that will (Hopefully) maybe provide you with a bit of information and help you along your way:
http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/misc.php?page=welcome
Is a generic welcome post to the RPC that covers the primary tools that are available to everyone. For example if you check out the Calendar you can see the Morbolvine Bazaar event happening tomorrow that you might be inclined to wander into.

You've got a strong history of Roleplay so the following link might not have a lot of new information for you, but I find it a useful refresher if i've been slacking,
http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=1770
A handbook of RP put together by Eva, as a note it has an index at the top so you can skim over parts you feel confident in, if it interests you.

While your server is blank, I stalked you a little bit and noticed your "location" was set to Balmung, in which case I suggest taking a look at the following linkshells. (Really I encourage taking a look at all of the ones on the linkshell hall, twelve knows they can do a better job of explaining themselves than I can.)
http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=1902
Is "Intermission" an excellent place to meet people, chat, maybe arrange some Roleplay. The channel is "OOC".

http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=3026
Is a European based OOC linkshell of collaboration, might fit your schedule if you keep their hours.

Hope that helps you meet some interesting people and make your time in Eorzea just that much better. If you ever see me running abouts, or have a question feel free to flag me down. Good luck out there!

Hi there and welcome.  I just started playing myself.  You can see my intro post just a couple posts down from yours.  I'm also playing on Balmung and am quite lost in the world, still learning how to play.  Hopefully we can meet up sometime for RP or questing or whatever.

Oh yeah, my main character name is Riuka Hartford. So if you see me in game, feel free to say Hi.

I soooo know what you mean!

My character went to Costa Del Sol for the first time yesterday, and all I did was to roleplay with the environment for a few moments.  Wait till you discover that region! Bouncy

And as a fellow WoWer who was there from the beginning, I did not roleplay there at all.  I was all about Raiding and Endgame content.

Here, in FFXIV, my leveling has skidded to a halt because I am drawn to the character's story. I can't wait to tell it, and to see others unfold around me. So I understand your excitement. I'd be delighted to accidentally happen upon your story someday.

If you ever see my young gladiator online, feel free to say hello!  She's a bit of a quiet sort, but not unfriendly in the least.  And I am always up for pick up RP.  Smile
