I apologize if this thread has already been made but the subject made me curious.
I've read a bit of the lore on the game and what I liked the most is that they took time to put rules for names on each races and sub races, which is a neat detail. Now, while I already know that an adventurer is already somebody unusual in a way in Eorzea, most of the npcs (even adventurers, correct me if I'm wrong) are named correctly depending of their race and subrace.
But how does it go for half-blood characters? Which naming do they take, father's race or mother's? Or maybe they take both and do some kind of mix? How'd you deal with that, fellow RPers?
Personally I named my character and even did her appearence based on my favorite character from other games (zelda serie), I'm considering changing her name to something that fits her elezen duskwight subrace more (Midna Lilywell => Midonne Lilywell, sounds good and the idea of my favorite character is still there), that is if I do create the character on balmung/gilgamesh. I already have an idea on how to keep the name Midna though while staying okay to the lore lol.
