â‘ To see the world as it is, you must change your perspective from time to time. Like many, Menelwen's entire world was turned upside down when the Calamity happened. For a long time the woman was angry, and not just at the world but at herself as well. For a solid year she wandered, witnessing firsthand how far Bahamut's reach was. Over the course of several months her anger simmered and she found a new purpose in life.
â‘¡ Armored to the teeth, and not just by physical means. Menelwen has walls upon walls of a mental guard, shielding her both from friend and foe. Like many, the woman has gone through many hardships in her life, and like many she has over come them. Unlike most however, the Elezen has come to recongnize that not all problems can be solved with a head strong approach. It must be chipped away, slowly, until the problem either no longer exists, or is small enough to deal with completely now.
â‘¢ There was not an emotion the Elezen did not feel when she was traveling alone for that solid year. Rage and confusion were side long companions in those long days under the desert's harsh sun, where as fear and mourning did little to comfort the Elezen during those freezing nights. But time passed, and with each of Eorzea's full cycle, Menelwen slowly found herself moving on. She would not forget what all had happened, but she came to realize that she had no control over what had happened. But she had control now, she controlled what became of her now. Her mind cleared, she sought out on her path a new woman. Where as rage and confusion had once muddied her thoughts, a newfound kindness and understanding met her as she came across the countless refugee camps and towns. When the company allowed it, she would sit with them at night remembering, and not mourning, those lost to the Calamity. Her words often comforted both others and herself. They would all move on, one cycle at a time.
