Red Lantern Society is opening it’s doors to players looking to explore content built by adults for adults. A delicate name inspired by the hanging crimson lanterns of Kugane’s own pleasure houses and districts, the Red Lantern Bordello serves as the focal point for the Society’s business – a brothel nestled in the quiet Lavender Beds, featuring breathtaking views both within and without. Founded and managed by Tsukiko Tanshi, an exile from the Far East who entered into the profession as a means of making sure both she and her father would never need to risk themselves in their refugee status, the business is built two-fold; to allow prostitutes, companions, and other variations of erotic workers or those who dabble in the business a place where they can work safely and without threat to their person, and giving those who have no place to go but offer skills that can support the brothel under the Silver Lotus Rehabilitation Clinic. Our desire as a free company is to add to the community in a positive manner; we’re adult-focused and aware of the stigma that comes with that, but we wish to bring together creative players and characters who are interested in not just participating in a brothel and rehabilitation atmosphere, but also engage with the community as a whole. We want to network, entertain, adventure, and just generally enjoy ourselves while maintaining high-quality interactions that leave those who choose to interact with us feeling comfortable about returning, and bringing friends. We are not an entertainment company in the grandest sense of the term. While we might hire a performer to entertain for a private party, we do not encourage the application of those who absolutely need a stage to stand on. We’re not a theater troop, we’re not a cabaret, we’re not a discotheque. Our entertainment comes in the form of quiet and intimate lounge nights where patrons can enjoy the company of those who work in the brothel, loaning out staff and services to other free companies who might need some extra hands for an event they’re running, exclusive and playful events where all business members can enjoy a night off while getting to know one another, and more – on top of the obvious. We’re small, and wish to remain such. We do not encourage the application of those who are looking for constant activity online – while we’re still figuring out just how many we want our ‘small’ to be, chances are that we will experience content and activity lulls harder than other free companies because we’re aiming for high quality over high quantity. We’re not looking for dramatics, and we are firm that our members are expected to maintain a positive face in the community, both in-game and on any media related to it. We’re adults entertaining adults, and expect all involved to behave as such. We’re currently looking for: ✓ Employees of all types - the dual aspect of the free company is intentional, as the business is built to be able to support itself while offering characters the opportunity to develop their own skills. Is your character someone who lost their job and needs a place to get some funds between work? A trader who knows how to find a good deal? A craftsman who needs a purpose? A mercenary who wouldn’t mind a stable bed and a good meal in exchange for keeping a few workers safe while they go about their duties? Get in touch! We want to add flavor to other free companies with the same heart as us. Do your broody sea swabbies need a night of decompression at a comfortable place? Does your bar need a few pretty faces to sling drinks and get those meals out? Do you have a job that might need a bit more muscle than what you’ve got on hand? Look us up! We want to help build your stories and add to our own, and keep the world feeling a little more alive. ✓ Community – we’re not interested in unfriendly competition. We know the market has plenty of adult-centered venues and free companies, and we want to work with them however we can to enrich everyone’s play. If we end up not being the right brothel for a prostitute or companion character, we want to be able to suggest another that might be more up their alley. When we have characters who have reached the point that it’s time to move on, we want to be able to help them connect with people who will keep that angle going, and we want to be on the list for people to feel good about doing the same with us. ✓ Roomies – if you’ve got yourself a character that is capable of making a room and you want to lend a hand, we’d love to take them in! Room assistants are OOC members (usually) who have kindly donated characters to help us build up private rooms that expand on the brothel and rehabilitation clinic, as we have a small plot and space is limited. We’re happy to help finance decorating, and have several crafters and gatherers on hand. Can’t think of an idea for a room but want to help? We’re not interested in: ✗ Drama & Gossips – we support in-character drama, we don’t endorse out-of-character dramatics. If you can’t play well with others, can’t share the limelight or take the time to help others who are struggling, you aren’t going to find a fit in the community we’re building. We are also very strict about our confidentiality and hold a ‘what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ mentality for a lot of what we do. What people come to us for is their business, and we expect our members to respect that. ✗ Underage Players/Characters – while we may sometimes run an event made for all ages (a good example is our Wolf & Rabbit hunt, which is a playful hide-and-seek in the open world), the business itself is by adults, for adults. We require anyone who enters into the building with the intention of interacting to be over the age of eighteen, both in-character and out, and this extends to prospective members as well. This extends to your guests, as well. Please, don’t put anyone in an uncomfortable situation, it’s not okay. ✗ Expecting Handouts – this is a big no-go. While we allow alternate characters as well as main characters, and characters of all levels, we’re not a parking space. Our small size comes with the expectation that those who want to be a part of the free company are willing to help build it up, and this goes even into Discord. We get that the head space for a character can leave as fast as it came around, but if the only time that you’re around is when there’s gil to be made or you show no participation in collaborative discussions, we’ll consider ourselves an ill fit and you’ll be dismissed. While others are bashing down doors or stealing treasure with cannon and cutlass, the Raven Syndicate is quietly moving through the shadows and robbing everyone blind. They are a small, selective group of ne'er-do-wells who take a great deal of pleasure in outsmarting the authorities. IC INFORMATION A house shrouded in mystery, dealing in blood and dark magics to ensure their prosperity over the centuries, the House of Sayrillont act as puppeteers to control the political and military climate of Ishgard from the shadows. With the world on the brink of ruin, this house of man and dragon both seek to extend and grab influence in each corner of the world to both use their influences to save the world from the doom coming for it as well as conquer and take advantage of vulnerable avenues of influence that have arisen from this desperate state of near extinction. A house of a powerful and immortal legacy, the Sayrillont legacy makes bonds in blood and does not take kindly to betrayal. Inducting its kindred via dark and nefarious blood rituals which bind the persons aether directly to the bloodline in exchange for ancient and primal power fueled by dragonsblood, the family are a force to be reckoned with. Boasting its capability for its bravado both on the battlefield and in parliament the family have taken down many of its rivals over the years with renowned mercilessness and suspiciously little intervention from the authorities. Having ownership of a grail of blood, an ancient artefact that has been imbued and cherished by the house for generations and is said to hold the secrets of the Sayrillont bloodline as well as the unique vampiric abilities that each of pure blood to the house possess. This grail lies on an aetherial leyline and has the ability when properly used to augment and mutate ones aether. With the house's ranks rising the Sayrillont family open these opportunities to others that swear fealty. Giving them a limited imbuement of what the grail has to offer through the mark so that they may serve the house more efficiently. The house looks for new blood to fill its ranks, those with knowledge of the dark and occult to fuel its rituals for power and conquest of knowledge, and those with influence and pull in areas outside the North to assist the house in pulling and cementing its influence in other places outside the cold North. NASTROND <ND-RP> is NOW recruiting! An EU themed 18+ Criminal/Dark roleplaying guild that follows the story of a organised crime unit that employs trade in the black markets as well as that of blood and bounty. What is Nastrond? With a name that originates in Norse mythology, Nástrǫnd (Corpse Shore) is a place in Hel where Níðhöggr lives and chews on corpses. It is the afterlife for those guilty of murder, adultery, and oath-breaking (which the Norsemen considered the worst possible crimes). The Mythos behind the title is where the origins of our free company was found. Operating within the public eye as a dive bar lead by the enigmatic Lord and Lady House Sayrillont, the venue holds as a front for an organised crime company that smuggles and secures targets as well as items to place on the black market. Though their main focus on items is those that would secure them the greatest amount of profit on the black market, the criminals found at Nastrond are not ones to avoid operations that set out for taking out targets for large sums of gil either. What rules do the Nastrond employ? The ranks of Nastrond keep confidentiality and subtlety first and foremost when it comes to their operations, only showing themselves when they need to be seen. They try to keep away from harming innocents yet are also aware that sometimes sacrifices need to be made for victory and can be ruthless and cold when they need to be also. Any act of betrayal within the ranks will be met with swift punishment, the cover and the main operations of the company serving among the tavern and the markets need to be done with the utmost confidentiality. How does Nastrond run its events? We like to stick to 3 events a week, which can include one shot jobs, the longer stories that can interconnect between major guild milestones and thrilling character development opportunities, and even a content night where we can push players through older content or map runs. Elegant, inviting, intimate, these were some of the more common words used to describe the Lavender Lounge. Having gained a reputation for servicing any and every desire of its patrons, the Lounge has quickly become a common topic on the tongues of its neighbors and competition alike. Its hosts are well practiced in the art of hospitality, with both traditionally Hingan methods and more modern western options being happily offered. Glowing reviews give insight to the Lounge’s success, but it doesn’t account for all of it. The manager of the Lounge was a curious figure. Her history was worn plainly on her sleeve, a creature of physical strength with a brutish air about her. Despite this, she melded well into the realm of hospitality, providing for the customers a level of attention only a true veteran could muster. A manager was, at its core, the backbone of any business and she served her role well. The Lounge was, however, not the only thing she was in charge of. As the thorns that lay under the plush petals, the Kiseibana are to thank for the house’s success. They are an enigmatic group doubted to truly even exist; the only evidence being the flower mon that adorns the letters of their victims. They are the shadows that steal secrets and seal lips, the invisible hands that pull the strings of their self-made puppets. Kiseibana was made with the goal of providing a venue for service and crime themed RP that might be lacking the focused attention that it deserves. While most groups focus on painting in broad strokes we're catering to niche and specialized sorts of characters and themes. Have you ever felt like your character won't fit in anywhere? You're exactly what we're looking for. The Company is divided into two sections; The Lavender Lounge and Kiseibana. Players may involve themselves in one or both parts of the company and are encouraged to do what's best for their character in terms of how they interact with each half. The Lavender Lounge is where hosts and service staff will interact with customers and present curious patrons with their own unique offering. Hosts are encouraged to craft spaces that play to their characters skills in terms of hospitality. It serves as the primary backdrop for the company as well as the cover for the more criminally minded characters. Everyone has a day job, even if it's something as simple as a nondescript "Staff member" designation. Kisebana, as a group, goes about things in a particular way. It's no home for thugs and scoundrels, but rather a family of information brokers, manipulative smooth talkers, and quiet infiltrators. Most members of the group are experts in playing from the shadows and staying one step ahead of their targets. They are a secret society and prefer to keep their existence a well guarded secret; existing only as rumors and speculation. Kiseibana prides itself on being an sex positive, LGBT+ safe space where its members are encouraged to explores themes and character archetypes that may otherwise not get the level of respect they deserve. Due to the potential themes and content of the FC we require all members be 18+. An organic event structure: We heavily encourage people to cultivate and engage with the efforts made to provide a truly living company space. Plot threads will appear naturally in day to day activities and the development of rich character relationships and dynamics is something we prize highly. A unique, expressive roll system: Kiseibana utilizes an internally developed roll system that puts a distinct emphasis on wit and stealth. To facilitate our focus on individual attention players will fill out specific niches within the system in order to work well as part of a team of elite agents.
