I am a bit rusty but would enjoy para to multi-para on a light to medium schedule. Ask any questions you may have here. Hi! I'm fairly new to FFXIV but not at all new to roleplaying. I've definitely never had the chance to RP in a game like this, but I've done my fair share of it between friends in D&D games and just in writing in general. I'm a part of a FC already, but that's just because a friend of mine let me into his to help with the early game grind. They, however, prefer to grind raids and whatnot, while I prefer gathering/crafting. I've heard of tavern events and 18+ night activities, but my FC has never really been one for those (mostly because we don't really talk to each other), and I want to join a FC that focuses on the RP'ing part of the game as well. Hello again everyone! Just reaching out to begin looking for some roleplay opportunities for my Hrothgar, a traveling scholar (not the Job, but just the general learned person). Here is a little bit about him, I’ll be working on expanding on this as I roleplay him and things may change some as he grows as a character and interacts with folks. Tihomir Jovasch “Always walk through life as if you have something new to learn and you will. ~Vernon Howard.” || Race: Hrothgar || Clan: The Lost || ||Gender: Male. || Age: Twenty-eight || || Vocation: Wandering Antiquarian || General: A Hrothgar of average build and height with an unassuming but comfortable manner. He displays the cultural wanderlost of his clan and travels to discover lore, ancient artifacts and unearthing long lost histories. His family were known as traveling relic hunters of a sort. They had a knack for uncovering the fascinating and forgotten. Some of these treasures they would sell, others they would return to the owners or more accurately the decedents of the original owners. But there were few that had neen deemed to dangerous to be anyone’s hands, these were protected. Much of his families findings, artifacts and chronicles of their discoveries have been lost when they were forced to flee Garlean occupied territory. Those of his family who have survived have determined it easier and safer to go their separate ways, though they still keep in touch. Personality: The gentlest of giants, Tihomir attempts to minimize his impact on his surroundings, as if in fear of breaking things and people around him. This most likely comes from dealing with delicate and fragile items. Persistently good natured, he tries his best to find the silver lining when others spout doom and gloom, This Hrothgar enjoys laughter. And he’s picked up the rather non Hrothgardian trait of exposing his teeth to express joy. It may take someone a moment to realize he is indeed smiling and not baring his teeth. Though slow to anger, once his ire has been roused, it is white hot sometimes clouding his judgement. Strengths : Intelligent, aracanum magics, minor conjuration, enigmatologist, adaptive traveler. Weakness: Any martial training, physical confrontation, socially awkward, cake. Hooks: Need a magical adapt: Planning to explore some ancient ruins, or need a translation of some half-forgotten spell or arcanic diagram configured. You might have heard Tihomir could help with this. Looking for an artifact: Is someone searching for a particularly archaic item, he might be able to help them find it. Or know someone who can help them find it. Lore/Story Collector: Maybe Tihomir has asked you to share some interesting stories from your adventures and wants to chronicle them. Traveling/Exploration companion: He shares his clans penchant for traveling, always looking to the horizon and is always willing to share the road with follow travelers. My Kind of Roleplay While large groups might be fun now and then, I feel my best roleplay comes in smaller groups. I’m open to joining a RP (IC or OOC) link shell and friend requests for RP. Story driven, character progression both my character and others - this can include friendships, family (with some ooc set up), romance (organically, slow build up), conflicts physicals or otherwise, enemies, rivals. Adventure - I love adventure roleplay going out to explore the world of the game preferably centering on discovering mysteries, solving problems, protecting people from magical and ancient threats (or not so magical or ancient) Casual - While Tihomir is terrible at small talk, it’ll be fun to have him out of his element and interact with someone in a casual environment, such as a drinks at an inn or dancing at a party. I have no idea how to do this but I am just going to role with the template since I am a little nervous and half asleep. MMORPG background: I been playing mmos since I was pretty young, I played FFXI when I was about seven or eight on my father's profile, and got my own account when I was fourteen. I use to play it religiously, and when FFXIV I tried it on my father's account but never got use to it and gave up. I just recently started playing FFXIV about the Spring of 2017. RP experience I been using rp as an outlet to escape my real life, dealing with clinic depression at the age of fourteen, I begin rping in the Naruto fandom and went to the Hetalia fandom, Been rping since then, It's been about 8 or 9 years now. Just a few years ago I been trying to get better at describing things and not becoming lazy after a few replies. Character ideas/info: I rp an Au Ra name Erynthel, they are genderfluid but was born a female or male depending on the rp partner and what they are comfortable with. Reason I used a female model is cause I wanted a really short and soft dragon person, but then time went on and I decided they are genderfluid. They go by He/Him/His, They/Them/Theirs, and She/Her/hers. So any pronouns will be fine for them. How did you learn about the coalition? Google?? Hello all! As I hit my one year milestone in FFXIV, my first ever MMO, I've decided that I want to get more involved in the RP side of things and stumbled across this site while looking for references. I'm a long time role player (table top, forum, texts, Skype, LARP) and always enjoy challenging myself with new scenarios and experiences. I'd like to make it a larger part of my FFXIV experience (so medium to heavy I suppose), ideally a few times a week in the evening and am happy to plan things out in advance or schedule things if possible partners have other obligations. I'm happy to world hop as well and have been having fun just hanging out in Balmung's Quicksand and people watching to get a sense of things. My current character is Roehaswys Brodansawyn, a daughter of sailors who grew up around the various docks across Vylbrand before training with the Murderer's Guild and setting out to travel. Her most current job has been working as a courier for cargo that needs a little extra protection. This has her frequently moving through Eorzea's capital cities and spending time with her chocobo who has been by her side since leaving Vylbrand. She's a bit rough around the edges, but happy to call anyone a friend who's willing to pay for a round at the end of the day. Since I have various jobs leveled for her, it's easy enough to come up with other backgrounds to accommodate other role play scenarios. I'm happy for one shots, but I'd really enjoy something more long form to be able to explore more then just surface topics. In RL I enjoy drawing, cycling, table top gaming and miniature painting. What you do outside of the Celestial Dance Network is quite frankly none of our business. Our community, however, is an open community to all. Oldhat and newcomer members alike have not consented to playing in a setting where your character has a lore-breaking ability, ultra-rare talent, or legendary artifact. Giving your character ultra-rare abilities/artifacts/gifts/et cetera quite understandably can and will make some members of the community uncomfortable as they are no longer on an even playing field with you and your character. One of the best examples is how rare Black Magic and White Magic are and how difficult they are to accomplish In-Character. To avoid Out-of-Character conflict, many players simply make the choice to gloss it over In-Character or have their character treat characters who make these types of claims as nutcases. Respect their wishes and personal preferences. As always, if you have questions, feel free to clarify with the staff. We will do our utmost to work with you as we do actually want you here! Below are some tenets we have adopted to ensure that all characters are on even-ground: In Character Actions = In Character Consequences. We will not be accepting ancient Allagan experiments, extradimensionals, nor extraterrestrial characters at this time. You are welcome to gush over your Mystel or the "alternative universe" version of your character. No tempered or those that can temper. The echo is fine to a reasonable extent. No halfbreeds. (Au Ra/Miq'ote, Hyur/Miqo'te, etc.) Just to be clear: half-Seeker and half-Keeper (or any percentage of the two) is fine. You cannot dictate the lore of a full Seeker of a Sun tribe. Keep in mind that most in the community have crafted their own culture, backstory, and headcanons for the branch or sept of a tribe that their character is from. In order to avoid stepping on the toes of other community members, we do not allow our members to claim the lore of an entire tribe. Instead, we recommend an informal (or even formal!) nickname for their branch of the tribe based on your own creative writing. (Example: X'zirashah Bakt, the owner's character, is from the Lynx tribe. Her people are called "Dune Specters" as one of many nicknames attributed to them.) At this time we are not accepting characters that belong to Free Companies that claim the name of an entire tribe, as this does not align with the spirit of this rule. (Example: "The Lynx Tribe" or "The Bear Tribe" FC name.) Do not project your own lore onto established NPCs/groups/organizations in-game. You can very easily craft your own branch of NPCs. We are not accepting Hrothgar-model Miqo'te at this time. We do not allow characters to hold a position of exceptional ruling power in any canonical government or organization. This is including but not limited to the ruling bodies of Eorzea's City-States. This is not extended to the creation and cultivation of player-owned organizations/septs/clans. In fact, CDN encourages the creation of hierarchy within player-made clans and septs. Some examples for clarity: Claiming to be a General of a city-state army. Claiming to be a close direct-report to a high ranking NPC. Claiming to be a character that can make sweeping legislation over city-states/Eorzea/et cetera. Low to medium-high ranking member of Maelstrom/Adders/Flames, et cetera welcome! Low to medium-high Resistance movement members welcome! We are lore-bending, not lore-breaking. If you role-play any of the bullet points disallowed in this section this is not a reflection on you and your choices. These are our preferences and how we wish to maintain our community. Black Magic, White magic, and voidsent should be treated IC accordingly. We are not accepting Female Nunh/Female model Nunh. This is not a statement on gender roles, those who are transgender, or personal identity in the real world. No incest role-play. No "abusive Nunh" and/or controlling Nunh trope. In this community, Nunh are family IC. They are trusted members of the community. We are currently not accepting characters with this trope prevalent in their backstory. See below for more information. A single man cannot control a host of strong huntresses. Yes, we know about Coeurlking, no, we don't care. The "alpha Nunh" and "beta Tia" trope is not welcome. We do not know where this trope came from, but in this community, it goes in the trash. Here, Nunh, Tia, and female Miqo'te are equals who love and respect each other as family. A Tia is not 'below' a Nunh or for that matter a female Seeker. Birth control exists, women can have sex freely, there is plenty of evidence of strong adventuring Tia in-game as well as female Seeker being sexually liberated. (Ex: the women of the Drake tribe in the Forgotten Springs.) Subhuman treatment of Tia would imply that the majority female society is accepting of it. This is insulting towards huntresses who grew up with them as sons, brothers, and fathers in their precious family unit. We don't consider Fantasia/race changing something that can happen IC. If your character starts speaking about a previous life of them being another race, don't be surprised when other characters IC think they're pants-on-head nuts. No overpowered characters. Characters who can casually wipe city blocks off of the map, time travel, teleport to other worlds, or withstand a haymaker from Titan will not be a good fit for this community. Such characters tend to pressure other players into making their characters that powerful, or risk being made irrelevant in combat RP. The general rule of thumb is that if your character's strength even approaches the WoL's, much less surpasses it, then they are too powerful for community. No cult-like role-play where the Nunh controls the Seeker women sexually and/or romantically. As stated before, the thought of one man controlling multiple women in a society where the women are both seen as equals and outnumber him is simply ridiculous. This will not fly here. We do not want a pervasive theme of rape like this in our community. We welcome non-Eorzean based tribal/traditional Miqo'te save one exception. Is your character from an island? Thavnair? That's perfectly fine! The only exception is that we are not accepting Doman/Hingashi-born Miqo'te at this time. If your character has briefly lived or traded in Othard/Hingashi/Kugane that is fine. Out of respect for those who have not finished Shadowbringers as of yet, the following tenet is placed in the spoilers tag. We recommend you not read it unless you are finished with the Shadowbringers MSQ. Leave personal differences and cross-server drama at the door. Every person who applies to the community will receive a fair shake. If you have a negative personal history with someone who joins the community before or after you — you are welcome to speak to the staff — but unless you provide compelling evidence you must accept that until they act out you have the option of blocking and ignoring them. There will be no Final Fantasy server drama or bashing in this community. No one server is "better" than the other. This is not Party Grindr. Let us be abundantly clear: we do not care if our members ERP in their own private time. This particular community is not a fit for ERP-centric characters nor does it exist as a venue to find a romantic relationship for your character. Hi there, I hope this is right place to search! I'm very new to the RP community in FFXIV and have dabbled on the odd occasion (I'm a casual player as it is, but sometimes I like to enjoy some creative fun times!) Anyway.. RP on Diabolos? Anyone? There seems to be the odd unicorn but sometimes I can't tell who takes it seriously or not. Side note: mild erp is fine for me depending on the situation & person, but mostly I'm looking for creative types who can really bring characters and images to life! ...maybe I'm asking too much?
