I have a decade's worth of experience in roleplaying on forums, but exactly none in chats or games. So this will be a new venture for me! I intend to make a female viera - but then fantasia into a male viera when Endwalker comes out! The only downside of making an alt is that i'll have none of my MSQ progress, mounts, emotes, or anything (since I can't afford that kinda stuff otherwise. Money is always tight.) Hello all! As a long time fan of Final Fantasy, I've been trying to get into FFXIV on and off for the past few years now, but now the game is really clicking for me, and now I really want to get involved with the community here, and start meeting people. I don't actually have much experience roleplaying other than a little D&D (unless improv comedy counts, lol), but it's something that always seemed fun to me, and I've wanted to try for a long time now. Sadly, since my social anxiety unfortunately is present in game too, starting walk up RP has proven to be very difficult for me, so making connections over forums like this one seems to be a good alternative. I've actually joined a few FFXIV discord servers, so I guess now all that's left is to start reaching out! My character is named J'bahn Tia on Mateus. I'm still working on a carrd, but I hope to have more information to post to making connections soon. I'm looking forward to start meeting people!

Hello, my name is Cy or Autumn, which ever works best for y'all. I'm a new play of Final Fantasy but I've been playing MMORPG's since I was around 18. I had a WoW account up until the most recent expansion and I've played Guild Wars 2, and ESO. I enjoy them all but was looking for somethign new. So here I am. When it comes to RP I've been roleplaying since I was 14 on various webs sites in Text/Para/Novella style. I only started RPing in MMO's when I got into WoW and am now looking to for FFXIV as well. I'm not super familiar with the lore and have only just created my first character as of yesterday. I would love to devlope them more once I learn more about the lore. I would also be open to making a character in the more active rp servers listed in this forum. If anyone would like friend to develope a character with I would love too! I'm a heavy Roleplayer to my standards but not to others, mostly if someone sets the pace that's where I'll be with it and I'm so excited to start!

And hi! I kept waffling back and forth and finally tossing my hat in the ring and start trying to build up some connections and rp. I've been rping since Ye Olden Yahoo User Chatroom days, and got involved rping in MMOs first in LotRO and more adamantly in Rift and it's become a gaming must for me, hahaha. Other games I've been into have been GW2, WildStar(RIP), The Secret World/Secret World Legends, and a wee bit of WoW. I also enjoy forum and ttrpg, so doc and discord rp are fun for me too. My characters thus far for FFXIV are Sen'ra, X'Vhett, and Jun'a-- All uh... miqo'te. Don'tyoujudgeme. Their carrds are all pretty heavy WIPs but available for viewing per request? I'm looking forward to getting more involved and maybe finding a nook to get cozy in.

Hiya, I'm Zsova- an FFXIV 'veteran' in terms of PVE and PVP. I've been a dedicated SCH main for roughly 3-4 years and prior to that I had a main BLM but I got bored with Fire IV. So anyway! I used to roleplay on Balmung/Mateus for a little, maybe a few months, and I took a hiatus prior to Shadowbringers. Since I've gotten back into the game with irl friends on Malboro (after a brief PVE stint on EU/Odin) I've been sort of lacking the roleplay side of things and I'm curious to get back into it. My current server doesn't have any easily accessed LS's or CWLS's that seem obvious or designed for it and I'm currently in an FC with my friends; but it helped keep me interested in the game so I really want to find others or get back in. I'd really like to meet others and find people to talk with, because I really like this game and the community has always been nice.

Well, uh, hello there. Thanks for reading this. My online handle is GundamPharmacist, though usually shortened to GP by my friends. I've been interested in RPing in this format for a long, long time, and have enjoyed the idea of being someone else for a while, whether it be in a tabletop or other setting. I've struggled with it a lot however, and it resulted in my confidence being shot. But, maybe here where I don't have to be face to face in a game I love, maybe I might be able to overcome that. MMO Experience I started out as many people did in World of Warcraft, mainly in the Burning Crusade era of things, but between being a student and a hefty subscription fee for said student, I wound up dropping in and out of it. I occasionally drifted from game to game, never sticking with one long until I stumbled upon Shin Megami Tensei: IMAGINE (R.I.P. ), and then ultimately XIV where I've wound up staying. While I was part of the open beta for 2.0, I didn't really start playing in earnest until a couple years back (I think it was the latter part of 4.2), and worked my way to current content. I like and want to get into all different aspects of the game, everything from crafting/gathering to end-game content to RP and everything in between. RP Experience This is a tough one for me. I played Dungeons and Dragons (3.5e, Pathfinder) and GURPS as a kid with a close group of friends, but trying to branch out into other groups as we got older proved to be painful and intimidating given my issues, and it fell to the wayside. I wound up finding a few friends online who pulled me into forum-post based RPing, which was far more my speed as I could take as much time as I needed to reply, and bless their hearts they've stuck with me as I've improved somewhat. However, I think it might have had an unintended repercussion - namely that I've grown to become quite shy and nervous with other groups, and as much as I want to expand my group of friends, I've become a bit too comfortable in a very small bubble. Character Idea(s) This might be a little weird as while I never intended for Chidori Yumitori (my PC) to be a RP character during creation, she wound up having her own story that got ported over to a forum based RP, which is serving as the basis for this iteration. Chidori is a young Raen woman from Sui-no-Saito, short of statue but full of curiosity and vigor about the world above, and afflicted with a case of wanderlust, desires for adventure and tales of such adventures. As such, around the time of her seventeenth summer, she finally had enough of her time isolated in the village and decided to take her leave, despite her parents' wishes for her to remain and follow the tradition of becoming a hunter-gatherer. She found herself in Hingashi where she picked up on various trades, opting to be a jack of all and master of none; with her developing skills she managed to buy her place on a ship out of Othard entirely and to Eorzea, where she gave herself the surname Yumitori. In Eorzea, Chidori is a bit shyer than normal, due to the language difference between Hingan and Eorzean and the culture shock being of an even greater magnitude than Hingashi's was; even years later, she struggles to read more complex Eorzean script despite having a good fundamental grasp on the spoken tongue. Arriving in Vesper Bay and traveling to Ul'dah, she joined up with both the Adventurer's Guild and then the Grand Company of the region to ensure she always had work and by extension a means to pay her dues. Due to years of multiple adventures and campaigns on the front, she's started to slow down a bit and start thinking ahead. Her current dream is to have a little shop somewhere, perhaps out of her current house in Shirogane someday, where she can come back to when she's tired of the hectic life and share stories and goods with other adventurers from all over, and maybe experience the smaller things in life she passed up before. Chidori holds to the belief of kami as is common in the Far East, though she doesn't consider other religions heretical; to her, others simply worship (or don't) specific powerful kami. This flexible attitude extends to most of her life; she tends to take most things as they come provided she has some sort of preparation or fallback, both on and off the field of battle. As such, she also enjoys challenges as both a means of self-improvement and the general thrill of completing a challenging mark or project she knew since she was a child. Through this flexibility, she enjoys helping others and knows she can always be of some service... most of the time. One cannot prepare for everything, and Chidori is no exception; despite this she often gets flustered or ashamed when unable to perform to task, accepting responsibility even when the circumstances were completely out of her control, and that's in the best case scenarios where she has some expertise. In others, such as high society functions or romantic relationships, Chidori is completely clueless, and will often miss any cue that has any sort of tact or subtlety - and feel either confused or even more ashamed and horrified when someone points it out to her directly; the latter is the worst case scenario as her upbringing emphasized modesty and purity, causing her to be shocked and not knowing what to do with bolder approaches. Sorry for that being so long... How Did I Get Here?? One of my dear friends enjoys RPing a lot and he wound up getting into one of the FC groups that has a thread on this forum. While we joked about him leaving our server and FC for something else, I was genuinely curious about the whole affair, and wondered if I could do it. I... genuinely don't know, but I do know this - if I don't try, I never will be able to do it. So, after some searching this morning, I came across this site from a Google search and... well, here I am. What Kind of RPer Am I Looking to Be? I'm not exactly sure how to use this metric as RPing feels a bit too nebulous to be easily broken down to three different arbitrary tiers of ranking through some specific metric, unlike a static. I do know I want to do more than just RP, and I may not be comfortable with MRP or ERP quiet yet, but I do want to get more invested than just dabbling or making a one time attempt (I think the overly long character concept shows that). To that end, I'm pretty sure I can say I'm not intending to be a heavy RPer, but I do want to have fun and take it seriously, if that makes sense? RL Stuff As my username implies, I am a fan of the Gundam franchise and a model hobbyist; I love customizing and kitbashing both figures and model kits, and am generally an artsy person. While I have laid off on drawing for a while, I'm learning to use an airbrush and thinking of doing some canvas work - maybe try to make a rendition of Chidori, though that might come out really bad. More seriously, and some of you may have picked up on this from the post in general, I am neurodiverse, autistic specifically. There's many forms of it, and even two people diagnosed with the same kind of autism can have very different experiences, circumstances, strengths and weaknesses. My shortcomings, unfortunately, are social. It's hard for me to pick up on cues IRL, and combined with being an introvert and for the longest time people trying to 'cure' something that can't be cured, I've become very timid and fearful of interacting with others I don't know. As much as I want to, the crippling fear of rejection, of looking like a fool, of being treated as invalid or... words I do not wish to say despite excelling in other areas is crushing. Even this is hard, despite the lack of verbal or body cues; a great deal of me is worried that as much as I want to be someone other than myself, as much as I want to RP, that my... specific issues will come up and they will overshadow the character. But... There's no way to improve if I don't push myself. There's no way to learn how to cope better or function better without trying. Wallowing in ineptitude and despair won't get me anywhere or improve my situation. I want to do the things I love and want to do, even if they're hard - and if they help me overcome my issues even just a little bit, then they're absolutely worth the struggle. Sorry for the super long introduction, but I wanted to put myself out there and be upfront. Not sure how well this is going to work, but... I hope we get along!

Salutations one and all! I hope this message finds you well. My name is Remis Locke, a fellow roleplayer in the realm of Omega. Too often over the years have I jumped on and off the game, constantly being dragged back into the real world by those ever so bothersome responsibilities. Alas, this resulted in an extended leave of absence on my part. However! I have returned, and I intend to stay for good this time and put in some hard work into what I love most, some good o' fashioned roleplay. Who is Remis, I hear you say? Well, it would come as no surprise to anyone who has ever encountered Remis to discover that he is quite a shambles of a man. Let not his fine cloth and well-spoken accent fool you, for he is as low born as they come, desperate to lie and cheat his way to the top by any means necessary. Why? Well, that’s another story for a different time. How? Through low cunning which often leads to failure of the most embarrassing kind. Credit to the man, some of his plots and schemes do land on their feet, if he can manage to land on his own. Under the fine clothing merchant company known as ‘Thrice Lucky’, Remis is constantly cooking up ideas to achieve his ill-gotten goals. If you would like to read part of his current ongoing story, I intend to post them up very soon! I would be very interested in roleplaying with criminals, authority figures and nobles alike; for very different reasons. Criminals would prove wonderful allies if made to Remis who, let's face it, needs them badly. The majority of the time when his plans do succeed it was due to the help he was given by others, though he'd always deny it. Those who roleplay authority figures may be interested in attempting to break his plans or undo his falsehood. With nobles, Remis would attempt to portray his alias of Rufus Caswell in order to mingle and ‘get in’ with their crowd which often proves humorous and enjoyable. That being said, I am seeking any form of roleplay really. I'm not a picky person in the slightest! Hey all, stumbled across this site while looking about for information regarding RP within the FFXIV community and figured I'd tick my head in, join up and maybe be able to get myself involved in the community that's clearly sprung up around the concept! I've filled in the little template linked in this forum to give you all a bit more information about me so, without further ado! MMORPG background Started with WoW back with vanilla in 2004 after being introduced to itby housemates from university. Played on and off all the way up to Cataclysm but eventually decided that it really wasn't something I was enjoying. I'd gotten a bit of a taste for MMOs in general though so I dipped my toes into a few other titles including Guild Wars 1 & 2, SWTOR, LOTRO and a few other more obscure titles. I heard about FFXI back in the day and dismissed it out of hand because 'Final Fantasy is a single player game!'... however after eventually hearing a lot of good things about XIV around the time of Heavensward, I picked it up and... here I am, been playing since 3.4 and have no intentions of stopping now. FFXIV has been everything I wanted out of an MMO and for that I adore it. RP experience Started out RPing on message boards and MUDs and MUSHs around 15 years ago or so, typically fantasy games but some science fiction, modern fantasy and other genres. Migrated from online to tabletop RPGs when I went to university and have basically tried to maintain teh hobby as much as possible ever since. I love telling stories and coming up with backgrounds, motivations, dreams and the like for characters in games and tend to put those things into characters even where they are not actively required or even encouraged - such as MMOs, haha! Big on having a fun, interesting backstory for my character(s) and deciding who they are, where they came from and waht they do in those downtime places between the major quests they undertake. Character ideas/info My main character in XIV is Zorya Muunasch, a Hrothgar who, at least in RP terms I don't usually like to portray as the Warrior of Light - just to avoid the Mary Sue aspect of that should I end up RPing with anyone either in or out of game. After all there's only one WoL and it feels a bit presumptuous to assume that it is my character over everyone else's! Zorya's a freelance mercenary bodyguard for hire (I'm a tank main in game so, it makes sense :D) who travelled to Eorzea from his norhtern home to escape the Garlean Empire and has ended up entangled in the conflict with the Garleans regardless of his attempts to get away from the constant threat of conscription in the Provinces. He's a rough around the edges guy with a heart of gold (I mean, have you seen Hrothgar grins? They're giant goofball cinnamon rolls!) who takes a bit to warm up to folks wbut when he does he's a stalwart ally who'll throw himself in harm's way to protect what he believes in. How did you learn about the coalition? Google, quite honestly. Just searching for 'FFXIV RP servers' and it came up and... here I am! What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy) So I really enjoy weaving intricate stories and relationships with other characters within the world. Character interaction and chemistry - whether it be positive or negative - as well as drama and deep story. So I guess I'd classify myself as a sort of... medium-to-heavy type who really wants to develop not only my character and their story, but also the story of the world around them, to take what we know about Eorzea and explore that even deeper to really make this fantastical world come to life in the stories I tell. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.) Not much to say about me otherwise. As mentioned I'm big into D&D and other tabletop RPGs of that ilk. I'm a bit of a giant nerd, as I work in the tech industry as a web (and general backend) developer All in all I'm glad to have found a place like this and look forward to seeing what things go on around here!

Hey everyone! I'm a long time rper but new to the FF scene! I look forward to getting involved with the community more in this game! How the heck are ya? I'm Diego, the Gaming Gamer Who Games, and I figured as I'm hoping to RP my character, that signing up here would be a decent idea. So the template suggests I talk about my MMO background a little bit. Alrighty then! I've been doing MMOs in and off since FFXI, I joined that around 2006ish, and still occasionally jump back on. I RP'd a good bit with my LS. Eventually, though, the player base started to thin out, so a regular service account became cost ineffective. During that same stint I somehow ended up with a WoW account. I ran a Night Elf druid, and sucked. RP was nearly non existent, and the whole thing was just too grindy (this, coming from a FFXI player). In 2015 the wife and I jumped into FFXIV, and made it to around level 32 before we realized that my rig wasn't up to tanking, managing around 15fps. If I was looking at a clear blue sky. As a tank, you can see how this would cause issues. So I quit for a couple of years. Last summer the kiddo got me a copy of ESO for Father's Day, and I had a rig that could handle it. Still, not enough to MMO with the wife, since we only had the one rig. We fixed that about two months ago, even hooking the kid up with a gaming rig to join in the fun. So that's my MMO experience. As varied as that is, my actual RP experience is even longer, and to save your sanity, I'll truncate it a bit. Essentially, I've been doing things like D&D/GURPS/Pathfinder/et al for well over half my life, I've a rather large collection of rule sets, splat books, lore collections, modules, and more PDFs than you can shake a stick at (I really don't understand that phrase, the implication is after a certain point you won't be able to shake said stick, but I'm yet to encounter such a thing in the real world). In pointed fact, with zero knowledge of Satan's Game (D&D, I was raised rather strict), a mate and I came up with a similar rule set based off our love of all things LotR, Narnia, and WoT. We used d6s to determine success or failure, had classes, races, factions... I'm actually working on converting that system to d20 and want to eventually (thanks to the DM's Guild) use the SRD to publish it as a fullblown setting for D&D. Moving on to characters, I've a few concepts I generally use (or variations thereof) in any RPG, MMO or otherwise. This allows me to slide into a familiar role in an unfamiliar setting so I can pay more attention to learning the lay of the land rather than the mind of a new character. The one that has been, in some degree or another, in nearly every game I've played is Shadow Weaver (Sha'dow, on the server, as apparently without the apostrophe it's taken?). The concept was birthed as a punishment for a GM playing sillybuggers with the rules and punishing the ENTIRE PARTY for the sins of one, calling down a Tyrstorm on squishy level 2 characters nearly resulting in a TPK. The Weaver was created as a warning--"you kill my dude because you're pissed at [player], and THIS is the fresh hell you'll unleash." To say the character was over the top is to say the sky is blue. Hedonistic to the extreme, drunken, womanizing, true neutral with neutral evil leanings (we eventually came up with a system to randomize his alignment by the day), and out for coin and cleavage. The point was to make a character that made Old Man Henderson look not broken. The funny thing was after that game died (yay having to adult), I started refining the character. The base of him is still there--hedonist, likes his drink, appreciates a well-turned ankle--but now rather than being played by THAT Guy (you know the guy, we ALL know the guy), he's actually a really fun character to be around. Gone is the "I roll to see if I get lucky" at literally Every. Single. Tavern. No more does he require an entire bottle of spirits before he can even be arsed into drawing his sword. No longer does he flirt with anything female (and some male) that has a pulse (or not, after all, vampires). No, now he's your seemingly average sellsword who only drinks to excess, and who's actually in a dedicated, monogamous relationship (though he does tend to show off if he thinks he'll get noticed, peacocking as it were). Sarcasm is his default setting, but he's also got a decent head on his shoulders. So yeah, that's the Weaver. How I heard about this place? Googling tips on role playing in FFXIV. I figured it'd been a while, better brush up now that I'm planning on hunkering down and doing this (on the weekends). The type of role play for me depends on the day. I generally like to be hardcore/heavy in the character (to the degree of requiring an inn room to change gear, not wearing armour when I'm knocking about the town, taking regular meals etc.), but some days, if it's been a particularly hard week at work (or life in general), I'll RP the story bits, but OOC the rest. That's rare, but it does happen. Ok, IRL stuff... I'm married, have a kid (too smart for her own good), and they're the reason I get out of the bed each morning. The wife is really big on XIV, and even bigger on XI (sadly, dwindling player base means it's more of a single player online RPG). We all three play XIV, and I'll sometimes dive back into ESO. The wife and I both write fantasy, hers is more romantic, mine is, well, it's extremely dark, extremely violent, and I'm not very friendly to my characters. She writes because she breathes. I write to deal with PTSD and bipolar 1. I play bass/guitar/drums/other, and have been in locally successful bands back in my younger days (one I was in opened for Manson around half a lifetime ago). I am an aspiring YouTuber, focusing on doing let's role play content, mostly around Bethesda Game Studio titles like Elder Scrolls and Fallout (not 76, dear gods no). I've next to no content at the moment, but I'm working on it. I didn't grow up in America. Was born here, will probably die here, formative years were in Africa/Middle East/Former Soviet Europe. I work 12 hour days (including 3 hour round trip commute) 5-6 days a week (wife works the same job). Video games are our unwinding/decompression. Righto, everything seems to be in order. Speaking of work, I'm typing this on my phone on the commute in. Feel free to ask any questions, comment, or whathaveyou. Ill eventually get a full backstory for the Weaver up somewhere around here. Anyroad, work is calling my name, and while I wish I could tell it where to stick it, no money==no subscription fee==no fun!

Entry One...Back home I forgot how calming it can be to write ones thoughts down with quill and paper. Something to keep my thoughts contained and gathered so they do not overwhelm. I returned to my company today after a few days away in the desert.That time...I will not speak on. That was a training session, something to strengthen my mind once again. The Kami speak once again, my stone letting me hear the ancestors stored within. Their guidance has been cruicial. Everyone is still seeing me as weak however...weak or unprepared. Saying I underestimate myself, but...all I want is a job. Something to do. The forge can keep me busy, but I did not spend that time honing my skills with my blade to simply sit on my haunches. I suppose only time will tell if the difference is seen in myself. I just wish the child gloves would come off as someone told me. I am not a child anymore...and I do not need them handholding me. I left Doma to be free. Despite my parents plans for that freedom, I have found it. I will bide my time..and hope that eventually they allow me the chance to prove myself. -- かおり Kaori

Introduction: Hello, members of the RPC, I am Kerzone and I'm relatively new to Final Fantasy XIV as well as the roleplaying scene that is prevalent on my home server, Mateus. I'll be following the recommended Help Desk Template just for the sake of ease and because I'm typically awful with introductions like these. If you're not interested in who I am, but still want to help, I have a number of questions near the bottom of this post under the Inquiry title. I appreciate any information that can be provided and will be checking in every so often. What's my MMORPG experience? My background in MMORPG's spans a lot of games, but the ones that have held my interest for the longest were World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, and Final Fantasy XIV. I was a casual raider in WoW, a Fractal runner in GW2, and a current casual for FFXIV that is merely doing the weekly grinds to reach a GS of 400. What's my RP experience? It's a bit embarrassing to say, but my introduction to roleplaying as a whole came from Roblox. However, I have a little experience with roleplaying on the WoW forums and joining a hardcore roleplaying guild in Guild Wars 2. The roleplaying rules from Roblox seemed to carry over fairly easily into WoW and GW2, but the overall methods of roleplaying, and the greater popularity of roleplaying in MMORPGs in comparison to a child's video game sandbox has made it a very intimidating prospect for me to get involved with other roleplaying scenes. That being said, I did fairly well for myself on the WoW forums for a time, having hosted a few open forum RPs and attending a few private ones, I have found that I am very comfortable with forum based roleplaying. The same, however, cannot be said for my experience in Guild Wars 2, in which I felt that things were a little too hardcore for me there. I was in the guild for about a month before leaving/being kicked out and being blacklisted. (And no, I wasn't blacklisted for any rule breaking. It was just part of their roleplay where leaving members could never return unless said member rejoined with a different character.) Character ideas/information. In honesty, I haven't thought too hard on this front as of now. However, I did have an interest in making a Dalmascan Paladin character. Having played Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics A2: Grimoire of The Rift and Final Fantasy 12, the Zodiac Brave line of raids was the spark that got me interested in the roleplaying scene in FFXIV. I've read over some of the rules and recommendations within this forum on how to create a character for the Final Fantasy XIV universe and spent several hours looking over lore, reviewing lore from Tactics and 12, and overall just sniffing through a bunch of character profiles to get a decent grasp of how to make a decent character. That being said, however, I do not yet have full confidence in my ability to make a character due to my lack of understanding of a few specific things, which will be mentioned in the Inquiry section of this post. How did I learn about the Coalition? I was speaking to a friend of mine by the name of Suomi Kha on a Discord server that we have. I had a sudden spark of curiosity and started searching for roleplaying forums, as I have seen with WoW or GW2. Upon finding that Square didn't have an official forum on their FFXIV sites for roleplaying, I asked her if she knew of any. Thus, she gave me the link to here. What kind of roleplayer do I aim to be? Well, ideally, I'd like to get involved with any number of roleplays, to eventually gain the confidence and history to participate in almost any sort of roleplay. That being said, however, I haven't roleplayed in a relatively long time, so for starters, I'm aiming for refreshers, experience in FFXIV roleplaying and overall information since I'm not as well versed in FFXIV lore as I am with, say, WoW or GW2 lore. In short, a Light roleplayer, then eventually a Medium one. Do I have anything about my real life that I feel comfortable sharing? Certainly, I have nothing I'm ashamed of, and I'm proud of the things I have done in my real life. I am currently a third-year college student aiming for my Associates Degree in Cyber Security, though I won't get too far into that since hobbies are much more interesting to talk about then the choice of major. (In my opinion anyway...) As for my hobbies, I'm a Warhammer 40k gamer (A Wargamer, if you will), a casual amateur writer, a brown belt in Shoto-Kan Karate, a (Former) Eagle Scout (Aged out three years ago.), and I'm a huge Dungeons and Dragons fan. That being said, I mostly play as Dungeon Master when I play Dungeons and Dragons, and I have been told by many that I am rather unorthodox on how I 'plan' my games since my games are never planned to begin with. I prefer to play things by ear, and improv pretty much everything. Other then that, there isn't much more to say. Inquiry: These are just a few questions I have since alot the information that I need to know is in a dozen+ different posts, some of them being a bit overwhelming for me due to said posts holding a massive amount of information. (Such as the pinned Lore thread, where it's so massive that some of the lore is reduced to singular letter strands that have to be reconstructed on a screen bigger than a house roof.) Are there any additional rules that I should be aware of that might be different or exclusive to the Final Fantasy XIV Roleplaying world/experience? (Things like unspoken rules or other similar pieces of information.) What's the overall consensus with characters having The Echo? (I don't plan on making a character WITH The Echo, but I am curious nonetheless.) I have read over dozens of different posts, all of them giving different checklists and advice on what newer roleplayers should strive to do, but I might have overwhelmed myself with all the information. That being said, what's a good starting point for a wanna-be roleplayer like me, and how should I go about enhancing my overall roleplay experience? (In other words, what are some things that I can do to make roleplaying with others a much better experience for the involved members?) In Final Fantasy Tactics, FF12, and Grimoire of The Rift, Paladins were often seen as outlandish and foreign within the lands of Ivalice/Dalmasca, similar to how Blue Mage or Samurai is seen as foreign in Eorzea. (According to item descriptions in GotR anyway.) However, they did exist, albeit in a different fashion, within Ivalice and Dalmasca. FFXIV, however, displays them as warriors that have learned an exclusive art in order to protect the Sultan/a. Is it still possible, however, for a person that isn't affiliated with the Sultana or the Paladin Guard to have learned Paladin skills outside/inside of Eorzea? Is it possible that those wandering Dalmascan Paladins still exist within FFXIV's timeline? Or did they never exist within FFXIV's universe? Are there any tools or add-ons that I should consider utilizing in order to improve my roleplaying experience? I would post more questions, but I feel like these five are already a handful for anyone that is interested in answering all of them at once, and I feel like asking more questions here would show laziness on my part since I'm aware that this site has a search function for any potential questions I may already have. Regardless, I feel like these questions could use a more up-to-date series of answers (In case I can't find more recent posts about these questions.) but my other questions should hopefully be answered more easily with a bit of searching around.
