Norvalla is happy to announce that we have over 40 members within our organization with 32 of them fully active! We do remove our inactives because we feel its important to display actual numbers when people join our ranks. Plus it keeps things healthy and keeps things moving forward in the most positive way we can! Last night we held our first Knighting Ceremony as you can see through the following images the unity that Norvalla is building as well as its following! Even among the snow swept landscape of Coerthas there are sites where dalamund's shell had marked the land. Their burgundy colored exterior among the frost covered land stand out in great contrast as they rise skyward. Norvalla having followed the trail of these corrupted sites took up a job in Ishgard to look for a group of missing children in a region that scouting parties has yet to transverse. This region so happen to have a corrupted crystal formation upon it and for Norvalla this was a perfect opportunity to do something good while in the meantime trying to follow the clues that were being left behind about the menace that they've been confronted with during the last Moon. So Norvalla was summoned to Western Coerthas and a briefing was conducted.

 

When everyone had arrived people had been informed of the missing children. That a melody of music drew them from their homes and onto the streets where they'd disappear from sight. That the only people that heard this string of notes had been those who lived in the Brume but no one took them at face value until it was to late. Panic struck the city and Ishgards finest combed the streets, the alleys and each house coming up short. They also set scouting parties throughout much of the region surrounding Ishgard and still nothing. So they had no choice but to reach out to the Free Companies in hopes of garnishing additional man power to aid in this task - It was Norvalla who took up the task.

 

With the information provided they deduced that the last area's that were to be investigated seem to also line up with a series of unfortunate events. A corrupted crystal region that required climbing to get to and a site that had yet to be properly examined. For those who were able to deduce this seem to have a faint trace of a trapping - After all it was to specific of an area to bring the kidnapped but none questioned the coincidence as they moved out as a group and proceeded to march toward the site. They'd climb to the upper shelf of the plateau and found themselves in an area with three Monolithic Red Crystals and standing at the center a Man who wore black armor from head to toe surrounded by twelve children.

 

The man was brutal as he requested someone step forward but seem to clarify his statement after he discarded one of the children in a barbaric way. He indicated that Sehra Muril and Katsuhiro possessed something and after throwing a clear crystal toward them demanded they touched it. Sehra and Katsuhiro with no choice did so as the clear crystal filled with a dark cloud-like substance removing whatever it was they carried from a previous event. Tossing it back the man would draw the crystal into his free hand while he held firm to another child by the scruff of his neck. This dark armored man would attempt to book it leaving the other children where they had been. To note the group had also found that these dark crystals seem to have tethered to them 4 children each for an additional 12 children being held hostage.

 

No option the group moved to rescue the children on the Crystals while a handful of people engaged the man in black armor. The terrifying speed and power of this man was unlike anything Norvalla had faced as he utilized the child in his care as a shield forcing Arnvidar to accidentally kill the kid in the process of inflicting some pain upon the Man. With the child dead in his care the adversary that stood before Norvalla tossed the body to the side and found himself engaged. For someone as large as he was he avoided strike after strike only to take a few blows that his armor seemed to absorb. Having what he came for he decided to make a break for it as a purple-black portal opened up behind him. He'd step backwards into it only to get attacked by those around him in a last ditch effort to bring him down. The strikes and blows against him seem to phase him but in what way it'd be hard to tell considering the mass of Umbra that absorbed him eventually from sight. Though one last effort seem to also free the man from the very prize he came to get - The now Dark Crystal Catalyst he had was now in the care of Norvalla.. 

 

With the armored man gone from sight - Norvalla would take the rest of the Children back to Falcons nest. Though the man got away and two of the twenty-four children had been murdered.. This was still a success as twenty-two children have been reunited with their families back in Ishgard & they have the Crystal Catalyst that seem to be the center of all this chaos.

Tonight in Norvalla we enjoyed a night of Painting!

Yes I know, painting is boooorrringgg. But have you ever tried to paint blindfolded?

A number of us participated in trying to decipher not only each others' paintings, but our own!

Who needs wine when painting like we did. Canvas was not the only thing painted either!

One or two of us enjoyed painting tables, painting on each other. Have You ever seen an Elezen male with bright purple ears?

 

This is just another fun thing we enjoy, social gatherings to bring our family together even more!

How exciting! 

Norvalla already has 5 events on the calendar for September 21st through the 28th!

 

As our community grows, we have come to have members from so many places! Places such as Chile, Denmark, Switzerland, Britain, Canada, Japan, just to name some of the countries. We also have members across the United States, representing all time zones from the East Coast all the way to Hawaii! With this growth and time zone differences we are proud to be able to set up events at different times of the day.  Currently, out of the 5 events scheduled, we have 3 Morning Events (10am to 12:30pm Eastern time) and 2 Evening Events (8pm to 11:30pm Eastern Time.)

I don't know about you but I find that discouraging.

 

Here at Norvalla, we don't have that. Our Roster is kept true to our numbers. There are no inflated numbers

due to excessive alts or inactive members.  What you see is what you get with our numbers.

We just had Season 1 Episode 3 of our Main Story Event this week and attendance is as strong as ever with 15 members showing up to progress our overall story and to push deeper into the mythos on which crafts Norvalla's world. Open World RP is our focus and we are delving deeper and deeper into it as time goes on and as we garnish more members we are evolving so we can make sure no one is forgotten among our memberbase.

We just got done Episode 4 of our Season 1 Story Arc for Norvalla. Heres a sample:
 

After the devastation of losing one of their friends to Quilinoth (A Voidsent) Norvalla would fall into a state of despair. Many of its members trying to find either fault onto themselves or with each other as to how this may have happened or who was at fault. With no answer in sight things seem to be bleak, however a course adjustment would befall them. The place - The Shroud.They would gather at Brandbent Meadows where they would be told to form up that a tide of change has befallen them but one for the better. After countless encounters, after some terrible times the Organization had to come to terms that some discipline was going to be needed if they were going to keep each other safe and was going to be needed if they were going to save their friend. With that in mind and with that stated Norvalla would be given details about their mission. They would be told about the Ritual of Purification and that the first step they needed to do was to find three items of purity. A branch fallen off of the Guardian Tree. Water collected from a spring untouched and a Stone from a quarry smoothed by time.

The Branch from the Guardian Tree would have to be strong enough to support the weight of a person and would need to be tall enough to be used as a cane. It could not be plucked from the tree directly and it would need to be purified by the waters that surround the tree. The Water would need to be as clear as crystal and as cool as a autumn day. It would need to be carried and housed in a Bronze Jar and must be as fresh as water that came directly from a source. Lastly the stone must be smooth to the touch, Ivory in color and no larger then a closed hand (balled into a fist). These three items Represented the Body, The Spirit and the Heart of the Ceremony Steps to come. Pivotal as they are they were important to what was to come.

 

D'eins Group (E'tihl, Fjola, Mikhs, Abobo, Sehra)

The group would find their way to the tree thanks to Abobo's navigation skills. After arriving, Mikh and Fjola would fall into a mud pit hidden beneath the water's surface. Thanks to E'tihl's fishing pole and Mikh's idea they were able to free the two after a couple of failed attempts. This caused the party to be weary of the water moving forward and the party would attempt to fish up the sticks in the area while looking for what they needed. E'tihl managed to reel in the stick that they needed form the near the base of the tree. Meanwhile Abobo would lay her hand upon the sacred tree at the same time. This was when the lightning sprites made themselves known and attacked the party. After what was a significant battle and several attempts to parley with the creatures the party was able to emerge victorious. Leaving Abobo and Sehra to collapse from exhaustion. Thus, the party returned home with the injured and the reagent in hand.

 

Ryslo's Group ( Jaghet, Aladiant, Rozaria, Llanore )

The group would find their way to Spriggan Dig. This place was a large hole in the ground that housed many Spriggan who had found their home, where they could collect as many rocks as they could. It was a long walk but when they arrived they found themselves greeted by the cute little bunny like creatures as they seem to ignore the group mostly. Jaghet would move about trying to find what they sought with his nsoe, Llanore and Aladiant would forage with their hands and their feet trying to find the object and Rozaria would use mostly her sense of sight but also her curious will of exploration. As they spread out they would find small trinkets - Chocobo Doll, A Moogle Doll, & a Chocobo Mask. Aladiant would trade the item she found to one of the Spriggan who ended up giving Aladiant a Smoothed Stone and another Spriggan would give theirs to Rozaria. While they found two stones akin to each other Jaghet found himself in some trouble in the rear of the cavern network where Llanore would be assisting him.

As Jaghet was helped out of his troubled situation, Aladiant and Rozaria brought their stones together. They would hum to life as a soft radiant glow came from them both. They'd merge and then fade away as a Massive Golem made of rock would come from the ground and attack. First attacking Ryslo, Aladiant and Rozaria which soon Llanore and Jaghet would come to support the conflict. The battle was hard pressed but with some valiant effort on their part they'd over come the massive creature and aquire the Purified Stone.

 

Katsuhiro's Group ( Linelle, Viaviene, Roric, Noir, Elvaine, Vari )

Katsuhiro and his party of six others: Linelle Proctie, Viaviene Braileux, Roric Angura, Noir Ackerman, Elviane Valdove, and Vari Zelenia began their journey to find the purified waters of the shroud. Luckily, with Viaviene and Linelle being natives of the Shroud, the search for the waters was of much ease. As they traveled the party began to feel forces watching them even as they reached the delta of the West Vein. Noir, feeling eager, took the bronze pot and began to fill it prompting a challenge from the elementals of the shroud. Fighting bravely and skillfully, the party managed to defeat powerful water sprites and the elements of the river successfully securing the purified water. (For the paragraph.) Norvalla is an Open World Adventuring Group that utilizes the landscapes that Square Enix has provided us. There are times even at 3am EST there are 2-5 people roleplaying.

Yes, we do content as well, but I am proud to say that this group is definitely HEAVY ROLEPLAY.

Last evening we did a Research event where our members got a chance to learn about 'Lore' but in a interactive way and specifically in a way that encouraged them to look up information that would interest their characters. We strongly believe that RP should be an experience not one you have to be forced to look up (lore) so we went to the Thaumaturgy Guild and each person looked up a book and its content. Providing details through whispers as if they were reading actual books everyone would after being sent extensive tells share what they learned which allowed everyone get a glimpse not only at Lore but what other members interests are. It was a fun evening, even if slow.

As you can see, from all the previous posts, Norvalla is definitely a Heavy Roleplay environment. 

Tonight, however, we took time to enjoy ourselves doing older content. I think many have forgotten the fun and frustrations of the COIL and ALEXANDER.

It was made even more fun by having those that have never done either, enjoying it all with us.

Norvalla enjoys its community building both by roleplaying and working together in both old and new content.
