Guess what? We're nearing the limit on members in Europa, currently standing at 107. This is both good because yay, lots of EU RPers, but bad because we won't be able to accept any new people.

 

For that reason, we've set up Europa2 for anyone who joins us after the cap is reached. Taeh and myself are in both linkshells so we can pass on important information and RP requests from E1 to E2 whilst E2 gets filled up.

 

In the meantime, if anyone wants to migrate to E2 for whatever reason (perhaps would prefer a quieter group?), just let us know and we can invite you.

Actually, problem would probably be solved if alts are removed (Especially if they are characters that are not played anymore or only seldom played). I think they take up quite some space.

Grats us, but Rinh brings up an important point with this. Quite a few people have started using it for general chat about all sorts of stuff and at times this becomes just a constant flow of text down the screen. Rinh and I accept that people want to chat but we feel that important messages are getting lost in the constant flow, this will sadly make some people feel alienated. If you go back to the original post it clear states what the channel is to be used for; please refrain from using it just for general chat.

 

If you have a group of friends you want to chat to constantly feel free to make your own Linkshell and chat there to your heart's content.

I'm not sure on the exact numbers but alts don't actually make up a significant proportion of our members. I wouldn't force someone to move their alt but of course if anyone has an alt they rarely play, or simply would prefer to move an alt to E2, then do let me know and I'll sort it for you.

Clarifying a few things here:

1. After some discussion, it's become clear that many, if not most, people want to socialise and have an EU community of sorts. We've therefore decided that chat is fine but do move private conversations to party or whispers.
   
2. We've removed a handful of infrequently played alts and inactive mains to make room for new people. If you log on and notice you're no longer in the linkshell, contact one of the leaders (names in the listing) and we can invite you to the overflow linkshell.
   
3. At the moment, the overflow linkshell is quieter than the main one. If you prefer less chat but still want the LFRP/LFG then simply ask a leader and we'll move you there.
   

On a side note, I'd like to mention how happy we are with the response to Europa. We never thought it would grow this big and were pleasantly surprised to see so many EU RPers on Balmung. I hope you're all enjoying your time with us and please don't hesitate to get in touch with any comments or concerns.

I'm new to the community & game, and I am a representative of a FC that is just as new as me (we have played since the relaunch, but have only just started looking into the community, giving ourselves some time to level and such) 

I'd love to join the linkshell, though searching for any of the names listed didn't give any results for me tonight - I was wondering if any of you could prod me in-game with an invite when you are around (that is if I continue to fail at the finding you guys part). My name is Sastra Mortier in-game, I'm online most late afternoons/evenings.

Hi folks, just an update here!

 

As I've mentioned before, we've reached the member cap on the first linkshell but please don't hesitate to ask for an invite to Europa2, which is steadily growing. The leaders and quite a few regular players are in both linkshells so we can pass across messages regarding LFRP and dungeons, whatever you may need.

 

Chatter on the linkshell has gone rather quiet lately as people are getting busier and settling into the game. However, we still have plenty of random RP and also organised RP that's open to the public. As part of The Travellers Guild FC, I do my part to ensure that any events or RP we're running are mentioned in both linkshells so you can pop on by and join us!

 

Europa itself doesn't tend to host many events, being an OOC group, but I do try to put something together about once a month. I have plans for something Christmas-themed in December so keep an eye on the RPC calendar for updates!

 

Finally, I'd like to thank you all for being a part of Europa. We have a strong European community here on Balmung and it's all thanks to you contributing and RPing together!

Time to Consolidate!

 

Due to the massive influx of players at the start we had to expand to a second linkshell. Now the player base has settled down we're left with a core of active players unfortunately split between the two, and a lot of inactives. This means that around half the people miss what's being said in the other linkshell when one of the leader isn't online to echo it across.

 

Sadly there are no tools to tell us who the inactives are to remove them from Europa to make space for the active in Europa2. Still we have a plan to bring these two groups of EU RPers together but please bear with us whilst we do this.

 

1. Create a new linkshell called NewEuropa
   
2. Advertise in Europa / Europa2 and invite active players to the new linkshell
   
3. Rename Europa to OldEuropa
   
4. Rename NewEuropa to Europa
   
5. Wait a few weeks to make sure all active players have transfered then disband Europa / Europa2

Could we please make RP FC leaders have rights too to allow future pruning and management? It also makes it clearer that this is a community rather then a one FC run LS.  (it has been run well to now, I have no complaints on that).
