Now that I have your attention...

Allow me to introduce myself.

I've been playing Final Fantasy since 1997 when I was but a wee little Dameon Jr. watching my older cousin flying around in the Highwind. He'd sometimes leave me with his PS1 (after removing the memory card) and I'd fly around for hours doing absolutely nothing useful. I'd just enjoy the scenery, the music and the fact I was flying a big ol' airship.

I was about 14 then. I'd played RPGs before (mostly Breath of Fire back on the SNES, but I even played Dragon Warrior back on the original NES for a while.) but none had ever really caught my attention all that much. For some reason those polygons SPOKE to me, the Kweh of the chocobo, that satisfying sound when a Limit Break began.

Needless to say, I plowed through numerous Final Fantasies. VII, Tactics, Anthology, Origins, Chronicles, VIII, IX, X, X-2, Tactics Advance, XI, XII (And after that I started to sort of lose a bit of steam. Sorry Lightning, you just weren't my lady.)

I've been through a long road of MMOs as well, with my first actually being Runescape (Not that I freely admit it), then Ragnarok Online, Final Fantasy XI, City of Heroes/Villains, World of Warcraft, Champions Online, DC Universe Online (Both PS3 and PC), Star Wars: The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2, and a few other free to plays I can't rightly recall.

I'm a long time roleplayer as well, starting back in web based chatrooms, enduring the horrors and hardships of places like Yahoo and it's sceezy underbelly, to the wonderful, long lost MSN-Group Pages where I would enjoy the hybrid, if somewhat clunky, chatroom/forum/image gallery lay out it had.

I think I actually started roleplaying BECAUSE of Final Fantasy VII.

But yes, over a decade later, here I am, ready to throw my support behind another Final Fantasy.
Haha, you got me... clever title. Tongue

Welcome! ^^
Hey, she had some nice triangles!

...Oh yeah, uhm... Welcome.
Welcome Dameon!
Glad to have one more Rp'er to add to the ranks. Big Grin

As far as your FFvii RP roots I have a similar story. First RPG I played was FFviii, before that I was all Sonic, Tomb Raider, Madden etc. so when the game asked me for my name after the opening scenes I just entered my own name.

After that, the game referred to me by name when it came to becoming the best SEED I could be. Surprise  I know it's a very basic practice now but at the time it was a revelation to me. Changed my whole video game outlook and made me a lifelong FF diehard.
What.... where!?

...Oh.

Ahem, welcome aboard! =P

And those were powerful pillows, they held her up on that cliff alone. xD
Welcome to the party!
*offers chips*
Dem polygons!

also welcome to the community!
Final Fantasy is probably one of the few franchises where I don't feel old when I mingle with the fanbase. Big Grin

I think Square-Enix just pushed her too hard, and the fact that they did a blatent 'to be continued' in a franchise that has avoided that kind of thing for...most of my life? Irked me.
yeah i understand that to be continue got a lot people pissed off lol myself included
I suppose you don't count X-2? (wouldn't blame you)
Though it was a blatant to be continued... xD;;;

I don't mind XIII and it's sequels too much. The only that really irked me about the first game was that it was so linear on the story. Didn't give you a whole lot of options that I was used to in the previous games.

Well, the difference between X-2 and XIII-2 is that you can play X and not feel like the game isn't finished.

XIII has a blatant 'Buy our next game' message at the end.
the only thing that bugged me about XIII was snow lol i mean had SE didn't give XIII the Final Fantasy title i think it would been a hit

I sort of feel the same way about XV. Square should make new IPs, but I guess they feel that keeping the name on the franchise and drawing from some base line similarities (summons, chocobos) is safer.
