I might dump Hamon's text whenever I get around to finishing the MSQ.
Unless someone would like to do so for me? I haven't seen it here yet.

Hamon is brilliant, and I'm glad to see at least one NPC being cheery and determined and steadfast (outside of maybe Pipin? I'm not there yet) in light of recent rumors.
I'd probably trade in the Hildibrand chain if it meant we could get more Hamon Holyfist. To me, he's XIV's perfect mix of serious drama and light-hearted comedy. ![]() |

Not sure if anyone caught this one, but apparently Rowena has this to say:
Quote:Aye, I've heard the rumors. Don't you worry your little head off, though -- I'll keep on doin' business with you. Rumors are words and words are wind. But coin is coin, and yours is as good as the next man's. |

Fufulpa, everyone's favorite Brass Blade, is still on your side. He as new Dialogue for the MSQ.
I think its important to remember the Brass Blades are not a monolithic organization, each company can be very different. Plenty of the Companies probably have no idea what is going on, and are simply doing what they're told because they believe its for the safety of Ul'dah. It's actually about 50/50 I think. Most of the blades you meet inside the city are rude (but not all of them) but many are sympathetic, and many of the ones you meet outside the city are actually viewed quite favorable by the populace at large. For example, Hunberct Longhaft, the leader of the Blades of the Orchid at Highbridge is shown to be very Heroic, and well regarded. Fufulpa and the Blades of the rose have done their best to clean up vesper bay and horizon after the corruption there. Even the Brass Blades of the Gerbera are highly respected international mercenaries. I think its safe to say the majority of the Blades have no idea what is going on, and are simply doing what they're told. |

Since we glossed over Sark Malark, might as well post him up.
Quote:I'm glad to see you safe, adventurer. None quite knew what was happening when they sealed off the Rising Stones, but 'twas plain that something was amiss. I'm not privy to the particulars, and perhaps it is for the best that I remain ignorant. Whatever trouble is afoot, I pray for its swift resolution and your continued preservation.- Sark Malark This is fairly interesting as in the questlines for Mor Dhona imply that Sark is a fairly rich individual who could very well know about what happened. Also, I re-checked Hunberct - I don't think his dialogue changed because his is entirely related to the Attack on Highbridge chain of FATEs. Also, unless you're talking about his lever he clearly gives zero fucks so I wouldn't even consider his opinion valid on any subject. Except when we're talking about his lever. |

I can't disagree with that sentiment, especially given lalabro in Horizon as proof of it. Which is why my stance on the Blades isn't "shank on sight", but rather "shank if accosted."

![]() (04-05-2015, 05:50 PM)Erik Mynhier Wrote: I mean even before the mess hit the fan, knowing full well how some of the Blades were, the General was the one that suggested without prodding that the Blades be given more power and money to watch Ul'dah so Flames could fight dragons. In my book that just shows trust in the organization if not its masters. It reaffirms my belief that the Blades are the "police", albeit it rife with corruption, but a force for good in theory. Considering the general's past decision making abilities (aka how to handle a Garlean spy in the worst way possible by placing her in the very same prison she would have the most contacts in to escape) I don't think you should hold that as proof that the Brass Blades are more than the same thugs planting Somnus in peddlers' luggage. Also, the Blades cannot get their house cleaned by design - They are quite literally employed by Lolorito who's kind of, you know, BEHIND ALL OF THIS SHIT? |

Mimishu, the Brass Blade by the Gate of the Sultana, might have been missed out...
"This is the Gate of the Sultana. It was erected to commemorate the ascension of Her Majesty Nanamo Ul Namo to the throne. ...Speaking of the sultana, I am informed that she has taken ill. Let us pray for her swift recovery!" His text before was something positive re: the Sultana, meaning that if you're a Brass Blade, that doesn't necessarily make you a detractor of the monarchy. |
