Earlier this week Rooster Teeth announced that Monty Oum was admitted to the hospital for medical emergency.

Just an hour ago they announced that Monty Oum has passed away.

Monty Oum may be known as a DDR fan, con-attendee, his work on Red vs Blue as well as RWBY recently. He was also made famous through his Dead Fantasy series, pitting Final Fantasy heroines vs Dead or Alive heroines. (And then the appearance of some heroines from Kingdom Hearts.

Monty Oum will be missed. My thoughts to his wife and his family at Rooster Teeth.

I was very saddened by the news. He always seemed so sweet at any public event he showed up at and he created many amazing things.

A bright star has indeed grown dim and faded away.Â Sad

It hasn't faded away. No, he won't personally be able to show up every creative idea he had stored away in his mind, but I have a feeling that Rooster Teeth will not allow his creations to just fade away.

He will be missed by family, friends, and fans alike. That much is certain.

Monty oum has had a presence in my life for... possibly the last 8 years. It is truly a tragedy to lose someone who has spent almost 1/4th of his life entertaining me with his creativity.

It's a little hard to say goodbye to two people in my life. I just finished the cremation viewing of my grandpa while I heard about this news.

I hope they find someone suitable to continue his work in RWBY

I honestly thought it was a troll at first when I heard the news; but after seeing it confirmed by various sources... I was stunned.

I hope his legacy of his creations continues to circle the net for years to come. Rest easy, Monty. You will be missed. :<

Yeah, it's pretty rough. I remember seeing his first Halo video back before Rooster Teeth ever became popular and it floored me. RIP. The industry lost a real talent Sad
