C'kayah and Fae seem to hit it on the money. It's happened to me and my FC during our RPs and to me in private and public RP. Though I notice it seems to happen the most to posts that are longer, either taking up the chat limit or nearly so or that require you to flow into more then one post (paraposting). Just keep an eye on it and check. I usually poke at someone if its 5 or more minutes inbetween posts save if I know they take that long on average to type anyways.

My FC has taken to announcing posts with an unobtrusive heart in our OoC linkshell or party chat to announce long posts that may be blocked.
Kinono Kino [super long post]. [2]Kinono Kino: <3! If after multiple tries, we can't get it through, we send it as an out of game message, or take a screenshot.
