Generally, though, don't be worried about how people will accept the concept long-term. All but the most stalwart guardians of the lore are willing to accept all kinds of things so long as they're "done well," the RPer code for "in a style I prefer/by a player I like." Worry instead about how to attract partners in the first place.
In this definition, assume partners = people to RP with

Still a very valid point though. Being interesting is only half of what you need to get RP. The other half is socializing. Lots of people will give the "hit me up any time!" and I generally think they mean it. (I do...). But at the same time, a lot of people are also what would probably be called "reactive RPers" (like me!) who struggle more with initiating conversation. An occasional poke or prod is seen as helpful, not bothersome, should you have that idea.
