Zhavi snapped awhile ago, which is why she's as broken as she is now. Indentured servitude did it for her, and being used like chattel to further the means of others. The realization that she was alone and couldn't trust anyone, that her feelings don't matter and never did, that the world is objectively cruel: it cracked her. It wasn't anything big, or any big defining moment, but it was the gradual wearing away at her soul and the obliteration of her innocence as a young person that turned her into the paranoid, drug and alcohol addicted loser she presently is.

She went on a small rampage and had the nastiest grudge against Askier Mergrey for a long time after she decided he was the one to blame for that whole Kidnapping Fun Time debacle. Really doesn't like to lose, and she really really doesn't like to lose people she actually does care for.

That said, she'd probably snap if something were to happen to her last remaining brother. (No, not the furry one. Sorry, Ki! </3)

Evangeline has already broken once, a few years ago. The combined stress and trauma of her abusive mother, bullying, and the trial and execution of her brother for cowardice, all combined. She lost her faith, her loyalty to the state, and a large chunk of her self worth. Eventually it led to her abusing drugs and alcohol, toying with various heretical cults, and moving from one toxic relationship to another.

When she was caught, she was tortured more, which only pushed her fear and hatred of the state over the edge. In Ul'dah, her crusade to topple the government was, in its early days, was the response to how powerless she felt in the world.

Thankfully she started meeting people who would help her, rather than hurt her, people like Gharen, Orrin, Klyn, Vaughn and Jaques. Surprisingly even those she did her best to hate, like Crofte, ended up helping her grow.

I'm not sure what it would take to break her again, some sort of betrayal, perhaps? Just now when she's starting to learn that people can be trusted again, it could push her back over the brink.

There are just so many things that could set Sounsyy off without warning. While usually a pretty grounded and serious-minded person, any Ul'dahn speaking poorly of their refuge population would make her lose her mind. Garleans and their sympathizers would have a similar effect. Get up in her face after she's given you warning to get out of it, you're in for a bruising.

Sounsyy snaps for very personal reasons. None of this friends coming to harm stuff.

When it's happened, it's because the rug was pulled out from under Verad. Finding out his efforts at paying his debt were all part of a scheme to twist the knife for past misdeeds was probably the most severe blow, but he tends to bounce back from these things.

Generally people are more worried when he loses his temper at all, which can happen for any of a number of perfectly normal reasons. It just seems jarring.

Technically, Edda has already been pushed over the edge several times, enough to the point where she no longer considers herself a "person." Years of constant sources of mental abuse certainly doesn't help either. Luckily she was built to be rather resilient, so her chances of suffering a psychotic break from a recurring instance is remarkably low - she just comes to accept it as something that will happen again naturally. Killed the person she loves? She'll probably do it again. Someone she (sort of) cared for forgot she existed? So will everyone else. Luckily she is quite practiced at putting on the face that people expect her to be, so her broken state is something that is quite difficult, if not impossible, to notice.

This is not to say it cannot happen again, it would just have to be weirdly specific and personal. Confirming how she feels about herself, or dredging up one of her latent fears will tend to do the trick. These instances are usually accompanied by a breakdown and lots of crying, followed by her safely retreating back into the doll-like state she is meant to always be in. What a horrible person.

Berrod has breaking points in layers.

He throws childish tantrums when someone he cares about is blatantly looking down on him or speaking down to him, for example. Having someone that he's established himself as an equal with violate that unspoken pact is a grave affront in his eyes.

He also endures moments when his emotional dam breaks. Berrod spends almost all of his time walling off his emotions from everyone else, and sometimes something's got to give. This either results in destroyed training dummies or snotty-nosed sobbing sessions in a private setting.

Oddly enough, he doesn't easily reach a breaking point when someone he loves is hurt by another. For the sake of his loved one's pride, he takes a step back and allows them to seek retribution in their own way -- and hopefully grow by doing so, whether they succeed or fail.

If someone KILLS a loved one, however, that's the ultimate breaking point for him. By default he is a loud, crude and brawly fellow. At that point he becomes quiet, efficient and murderous.

Very good question. In other settings, I've never been quite certain of my own character's stability. There have been times where I thought she'd be fine, only to have something unexpected push her over the edge.

That said, I doubt anything "simple" could push her over. Whatever were to drive her to madness would have to be long and sustained.

Jade is pretty good at keeping his anger in check, but willful defiance of any subordinate thieves that could jeopardize their job makes him really loose his temper because everyone could be in deep trouble.

Nekhii doesn't get angry, but eventually the guilt just bubbles up and he becomes a huge sobbing mess for a while.

Liadan actually hit her breaking point shortly before the Calamity.

A lot of people died.

She's been very careful since then.

Oddly enough, for Nira...

She's most at home when there's friction. When there's conflict. She's gotten so conditioned to that state of affair that it's become her normal.

All the chaos, the bloodshed, loss of life, she's come to accept those as a part of everyday life.

That said, she doesn't know how to cope properly with some of the better things in life. Subjects of romance are an entirely foreign affair to her. She can be easily hurt in this arena, and it's not unlikely that she will (and has) reacted with a misappropriate level of response.

Could say in some way Kurt's already snapped. It's just that he's good at hiding it. There's little and less that he could care about in the world now. The most notable is his family, yes including his pets, and the really close friends.

He had held on to his Maelstrom position specifically to keep an eye out for Wineport but has since let go of it and tranferred to the Flames when he learned his mother and her crew had taken to sailing again.

Ramen and Nah involve the people close to them as well. Well for Ramen there's the added factor of what her past brings. Nah'd be realizing all she does, all the heroing was a lie.

Khujin's defensive of her lifestyle and tribe.

silly Kurt, not talking to one of the people that cares about his wellbeing and potential before breaking point was reached Tongue
