Alright peoples! Listen up!
There's a plan in the works. A glorious, magical plan that will act as the ultimate stepping stone to our success. A stepping stone that will take us to the very mountain tops so that we may witness as the gods themselves weep for not having come up with it first. We will the proceed stick our tongues out at those thunderous skies and laugh as we dance in their sorrow! In other words were going to do an open rp thing on Skype. It'll open to anyone and everyone. The story itself is still in the works but be rest assured that it will Not be lore heavy. You don't have to know everything about Eorzea to participate - just be sure to know which end of a Chocobo is the front and you'll be good. Tyronis has been super awesome and even offered to help me set the whole thing up which I greatly appreciate. In his own words this will simply be a 'trial run.' It's not serious, it's not a big deal, and you won't be black listed if you make a mistake. This is just for fun and maybe even a little practice, a way to get your feet wet if you've never rp'd before. I've never rp'd on Skype so it'll be a new experience for me too! If you have any comments, or opinions, or just want to chime in a thought then please reply. If you think this is the stupidest idea ever then...uh *insert witty and tasteful comeback here* I'd like to make it happen the following weekend (not this one) though that's still up in the air. Any thoughts? |

I am a new player and new to Final Fantasy in general. I have had a bit of a hard time feeling like I belong in this group. The way I RP seems to be different from most people here and some of made me feel like the way I do it is wrong, my artwork wasn't well received, and often I am afraid my opinion will be ridiculed because I see others that are. There also seemed to be a lot of pointless bickering and arguing. Not sure if anyone noticed but I haven't really contributed much lately, however I did when I first joined.Â
However, I have also made some friends. So I decided to get over my fear and post my concerns so that hopefully this can be remedied. Overall people are friendly and probably didn't even realize that they can seem condescending to someone new and sensitive. |

I would be interested in participating in a Skype RP.

Unfortunately the usual response to drawing on the internet is 'if it's not Photoshop I'm not looking at it.' Which sucks I know. But don't stop sketching! You should be proud of it! It looks just as good as anything I've ever done and you didn't have to cover it up with paint and shading effects to make it that way!Just to clarify my profile pic is not my sketch. It was beautifully done by Nya. (06-18-2013, 03:13 PM)Eva Wrote: I would be interested in participating in a Skype RP.Oh god shes back *hides* |

Yeah, anyone who is interested in the Skype RP, please PM me your Skype usernames and I'd be happy to arrange the group for you all and even come up with a few easy scenarios for you all to RP in to see how your character would react within those settings.

Oh man, I just saw this thread. Â
This is a solid topic and I'm glad that someone posted it. Â RP communities can seem like these dense, tangled things to outsiders. Â Getting involved with them after they've already become so well established can be incredibly difficult, and leave people feeling left out in the cold. Someone in this thread likened it to getting a new job and I feel that's really true. Â It can be nervewracking and stressful, which is usually the opposite of what someone is looking for when they're gaming. Â But little things, like this especially, can really make a difference. Â I'll admit: I'm hesitant to join a legacy server because of that initial barrier of entry. Â That's why I sought this website out -- to sort of ease the transitional period and establish a firm idea of the community before the game officially launches. Â So, bravo to you guys for doing this! Â I'd be happy to come along to the skype thing as well. Â My account is: bathroom.bard (with the period and everything. Â How obnoxious, right?) and I really look forward to getting to know folks here. Â If there's one thing I've missed about FFXI more than anything else, it was the community and sense of belonging that it fostered. Â I look forward to recreating that same feeling with you folks. |
