While small FC houses might not be what everyone wanted, it may be obtainable if FCs work at it. So the project may still be possible, and the FCs that did make around that much may be able to get medium houses at that point too.
I think when they find that their math (done in Yen, not USD or Euros, clearly) doesn't add up, and that the player population isn't happy with the situation because the majority of FCs can't afford the housing at these prices even after the break at 90 days, we're going to see an adjustment from Squeenix. So perhaps rescaling the project to a 90 day project is still worth it, rather than just giving up and entirely canning it.
