Umm... I don't know how active the EU community is in Balmung. I for one don't tend to see EU RP events, so I guess the EU community has never been strong enough, otherwise we'd have chosen our own server from the beginning. Maybe everyone is resorting to what I've ended up doing myself, which is private RP with a group of friends.
If you're new and European, I'll tell you the same I've told everyone else. Balmung is good for casual RP, as you'll find tons of it in the cities. Even outside them, you might find people RPing during your travels (which I'm always thankful for). If you're from EU, however, expect to be locked out from actual RP events/plots and endgame content. Nothing is impossible, but things might be (very) difficult due to the different timezones.
As an European, I don't recommend any fellow EU player to come to Balmung, unless they simply want casual RP at the expense of everything else.
