I don't really know much about this sort of problem in relation to FFXIV, but what I do know is that experiences in other games have led me to believe that this is the sort of thing that you should file a ticket for, if you haven't already. Chances are a GM could give you those items back if you provide them with proof of purchase or something similar.
Oh... Oh no... Last time I contacted their customer support I was on hold on the phone for 2 hours before someone picked up, then hung up on me, and the online chat support wasn't much better... I was really hoping it wouldn't come to that, it's my absolute LAST resort...Â
