If you like horror in your rp, having your character being trapped in the void for a while would do the same thing. We know it's possible to be trapped - from World of Darkness and the void is... basically a limbo. "Demons" (Called voidsent) live there, trying to escape to our world because they want to feed on our Aether. They are scary, very scary and your character would have had to have found away to escape - one they did only to realize quite a lot of time has passed. Once she comes out, she would have to relearn how to live and function in this new society.
It could have made her somewhat off, weird...
That's just an idea though, I'm not exactly sure how being trapped in the void works really (Does it age you or would you need to be put in a sort of Stasis?)
