Hee, I did that before with one of my old rp buddies who came to the game to try out the rp. Rather, we started to rp, and he goes 'no, this is all wrong, I hate this' and was frustrated because it wasn't what he wanted from his character.
So we tossed that rp out the window and started over! No harm, no foul.
