I mean even before the mess hit the fan, knowing full well how some of the Blades were, the General was the one that suggested without prodding that the Blades be given more power and money to watch Ul'dah so Flames could fight dragons. In my book that just shows trust in the organization if not its masters. It reaffirms my belief that the Blades are the "police", albeit it rife with corruption, but a force for good in theory.
I think once the dust settles we will see the Blades get their house cleaned and that function will return.
