Okay, I don't have the info in front of me, but I thought that the Sharlayan colony on the Aldenard mainland was more recently abandoned (within the last few years, a couple of decades at the most), but the above quote makes it look like the Eorzean Sharlayan is ancient history.
Anyone able to clarify?
