Well said.  I always cry a little when I see threads like this.  Not to be an a hole,  but it's best to build your relationships  in-character.  It's funnier that way
This is opinion and everyone has a different one. We all think our own opinion is the right one but that doesn't make us right. I can see both sides and have, in fact, been on both sides with both positive and negative results.
The fact is, both can be fun if you find the right person! Just cause you find someone OOCly doesn't mean it's going to work ICly. The person met ICly could prove incompatible with you and lead to issues down the road. I can't make my character fall in love with another character... when I play her, she has her own opinions and it doesn't matter what I think of the person playing the other character. So for me, I have to find both a player and a character that I can work with.
