That said, I cannot, and will not tell anyone to recognize any specific strength in RP. I do, however, put it in there as a statement of experience, training and quality. Most fighters aren't... quite equipped to handle this level of combatant.(08-22-2015, 02:45 AM)Anthony Valron Wrote: They're also very good. Like, the best. Only the highest tier of fighters will be able to beat them in even a 2 on 1 situation.
That part's kinda iffy if you're dealing with other player characters, which is what I'd assume you're talking about with guard duty.
More on-topic, I like the PMC-ish kind of approach rather than the ragtag bunch of misfits angle that I see most mercenary groups take.
The people who are part of the Spear are military veterans, with professional training and years of experience. They're also trained in small unit tactics - as I said, people can choose to acknowledge our strength or not ICly! I'm not gonna tell you how to RP, merely wish that we should be treated this way.
"Imagine a modern day PMC merged with the reputation of the Golden Company from Game of Thrones." is how I like to envision this group. Ex Army Rangers, ex tier 1 Special Forces operators, etc. They come because they get paid the best for their considerable skill-set.
