Did you just buy a license or added game time as well? If you haven't put any game time and only bought the license, if you find someone to give you a referal, the game will give you some stuff that you can buy equipment with that will help you as you level. (Newer person will get silver chocobo feathers which you can use to purchase stuff from the calamity salvager)
