My characters almost always reflect some part of me. Relationship-wise, I play the love game like I play it in real life. I put my hand on your leg and then we kiss tend to have fitness-oriented characters who want other fitness-oriented SOs. In real life I get really put off when I go on a date and someone says, "Oh I hate the gym. I don't need to go." I guess if you are looking at Anime tropes (I feel like this is the audience to reference anime), the Uke/Seme relationship is the last thing I am going to be comfortable with RPing. From my experience it isn't a realistic relationship dynamic. I want an equal or greater in a relationship, so my characters always seek that in RP.
My characters (like myself) are usually not terribly passionate about many things, but I've always been drawn to pairing my characters with people who ARE heavily motivated. I like mixing people who seem similar on the surface but are opposites at their core. I definitely never ever feel okay with interspecies RP and being the lore snob I am, I quietly look down my long, elitist nose at people that do. Ew.
I've never had issues so far with people blending IC with OOC and having the mythical "I think I love you OOC" syndrome, but I'm told the way I put myself in my characters is a potentially slippery slope. And that would end badly because I'm not a nice person in real life. I throw as much shade as I can muster.
