Best romantic storyline I ever played was two people dedicated to opposing deities, one attempted to seduce the other to ruin her connection with her deity, but ended up falling for her instead (all the while she had no idea who he really was). Â When she found out, tho, that's when the fun began.
One Chaotic Evil, the other Neutral Good, neither willing to compromise on their beliefs, both head over heels for the other, each one trying to pull the other to their way of thinking. Â Meanwhile, people on the outside (who had no idea of what was actually going on) assumed that she'd fallen, that she was evil, that she was protecting evil people, that she was no longer receiving the blessing of her deity. Â Apparently they were petitioning the DMs to get involved (not knowing they already were from nearly the beginning).
At one point, the damn Harpers attacked her, because you can't love someone who is evil without being evil yourself (and doing evil things!).
I almost managed to convert him. Â Came so. Â Damn. Â Close.
It was awesome. Â I'd give my right arm for another shot at a storyline like that.
