Hopefully if/when we go into Othard, we'll get more on how Garlean society actually works. As for the Gladiator thing. As far as I know, there are prisoners that are Gladiators, so I assume there are slave gladiators as well. Some do it for sport and fame, some do it because they have no choice. It shouldn't be too hard to make it fit!
