I'm not gonna get into the vocal discussion, and just say that while I adore a lot of Nightwish's older stuff (Over the Hills and Far Away still being one of my favorites), the Prophet and the Pendulum is probably the Nightwish-album I listen to the most. But okay, I'm not as "hardcore" anymore as I was in High School
I do think it's a shame that an actually pretty good album by many wasn't given a chance because of the lead singer drama <.<
I'm gonna change the direction a bit, and say that music that moves my heart is very often classical.
Verdi's Requiem is fantastic (Just listen to Dies Irae )
Stravinski's Firebird is one of my favorites, and if you don't have the patience to hear all of it, Disney used a pretty nice suite of it in Fantasia 2000.
While I don't listen to a lot of Le Carnival des Animaux, I adore Aquarium.
Of course there's a lot more, but I'll start with these.

I came for the ERP, I stayed for the free booze.
