But on a serious note, I think they were numerous enough to have as a mount. To get one as a mount, I believe they're semi-intelligent more so than other beasts, so I take the bonding would take a special strong willed individual.
Game limitations and such, remember 1.0 was more of an alpha experiment instead of an actual game.

 Very good. I don't want to make Siobhain too-too special but I would like her to eventually get a coeurl mount. I may periodically reference it. I did also read that they're extremely ferocious creatures but I'm sure she could take one.
