And even before that, the Scion dialogue during the primal hardmode quests' cutscenes also indicate that the HM battles take place after the fall of the Praetorium. So it's always been post-Operation Archon.
I think people are saying they're ignoring those fights and saying they have not happened yet. Â Essentially, either the story didn't happen yet at all, or some people are stopping at CM and not going further.
