I play on another character on another server and have run into very similar issues. However I agree with everyone here about getting friends and going in. You will likely find a greater threshold for learning with them and you will still have fun even if you are struggling, because at least you know it's a buddy on the other side of the room/area getting killed the same way you are. Endgame is fun, but it isn't the whole game and I know you would gladly be accepted into any groups running RP, treasure hunts, FATEs or whatever, which is a separate ball game than endgame. I personally take a break every day from endgame stuff to do something I enjoy. I think making sure you are having fun is the most important thing. Don't let the pack at endgame ruin your enjoyment of the game.
