The character started as an archer/bard and is now in the process of attaining myth gear. I've got her through the Amalj'aa dailies to get her the drake mount as well for character-driven mount usage.
My idea for the character, originally, was to make her an ic ninja and then swap her to the job when it came out. Backstory wise I combined the idea of the hidden villages of shinobi (like in Naruto) with the displacement and loss of the Dwaves of Erabor (from the Hobbit). Setting their original home somewhere in the mountains of Coerthas, Miyuki and her 'clan' of ninja (etc) were forced to flee after a dragon attack left their village destroyed. Now living in the Black Shroud, she (oocly) can be found in and around Gridania.
With the advent of the Domans and the obvious 'Asian' style of them (not to mention the pending thief/ninja class/jobs) I've reworked Yuki's backstory slightly to imply that her 'clan' immigrated generations ago to Coerthas from Doma.
Ah I see. This is sort of what I assumed upon seeing many high-leveled and end-geared Asianish characters.

At any rate, I think it's likely that some of the refugees would be ill content to remain in Revenant's Toll. There's a lot of adventurer traffic there, so perhaps meeting one of these heroic individuals inspired some of them to travel to Gridania, or Limsa Lominsa, or even back to Ul'dah to prove themselves.
As for classes, I don't think it's far-fetched to think a newly arrived Doman (who may or may not have had previous martial training) might also train in one of the Disciplines of War native to his new home.
Kiht told me that you were making a Doman so I hoped you would weigh in. In all likelihood the Domans escaped with just what they had on them so lots of Eastern clothing would be unlikely. Still I desire the look though... especially those Yukatas...
True enough after a time the refugees would likely learn of Eorzea's martial ways but I still like the notion of being some Doman variant of a class.

Yes! I was going for just that. I would love to be a Doman analogue for a Miko or something like that. Gear becomes an issue again although I've been getting clothes with the sets available.
