Have a friend that has been trying to get into Balmung for the last few days and it's never open. Anyone know when is a good time to start checking?

I think because it's winter holidays and right now is the weekend is a bad time.

Generally, check 3am-5am PST.

Things to remember: have character appearance saved.
Try like 10 within servers going up or down from/for maintenance.

Gosh, trying to make an alt at the very edge of maintenance was thrilling, in a completely weird and ultimately nerd-sad kinda way. XD

I missed the window due to my own stupidty. I'm kinda hitting myself right now.

But for real, right now there are no windows that Balmung is open. Holidays perhaps, but typically people work on this Monday.

For those of you who want to check by yourself, here are the times where the Character Restrictions are re-evaluated.

3:00 a.m./ 7:00 a.m./ 0:00 p.m./ 5:00 p.m./ 10:00 p.m. (PST)
6:00 a.m./ 10:00 a.m./ 3:00 p.m./ 8:00 p.m./ 1:00 a.m. (EST)

So, if you're on EST and you checked at 1 AM, go to bed, it won't change until 6 AM.

This is only when they update the restriction page on the lodestone. I've seen servers open up between these times.

You got my hopes up! xD And I thought that was only when this Square Enix thread/page updates on server status? I might be mistaken, but I've been able to create new characters at odd hours and half-hours of the early morning.

I got up early, but Balmung is still closed. The rest are opened. I made a character on Gilgamesh just to grab that spot. But, now I'm still watching Balmung like a hawk this morning. It's 8:20AM. Gonna watch it til at least 10AM I think. Is that a good plan?

Damnit I got my hopes up when I saw this thread getting a post. Anyway isn't like 5am EST the sweet spot for finding an opening in Balmung? Granted, I was able to make Kurt in another time slot. Gilgamesh is plenty open right now though.
