I have always maintained that Square Enix are extremely precise in how they present their world to us, and the lore within it. This goes to the finest details as well, such as how they dress up their NPCs, down to their race and to their clothes. The proof in the pudding came to me today, when we witnessed this display for Littles Ladies' Day.

I'm near enough 100% on this, but the reason they are wearing AF2 armour and not AF1 armour? Because if you smalltalk Rowena and select 'Vintage equipment', she'll explain that the AF2 armour she sells to adventurers are in-universe all replicas. The AF1 armour is only given to the Warrior of Light or worn by ranking Sultansworn officers in-universe (insofar as the proscribed lore goes, to put aside the roleplayer-friendly version). It would make sense these dolls would be put in replica gear and not the real thing. This is further supported by the fact that the three swords all use the 'Unfinished Curtana' model. If they put down actual Curtanas, that would imply Master had to go to the lengths that the Warrior of Light went to in getting their relic...which wouldn't make sense.
I thought it was neat that Square Enix goes to the same lengths that we players do in the area of overanalysis and dissection.
