In Celebration of the Navigator

One and all is invited to come give thanks and hear inspirational words in regards to Llymlaen.

Llymlaen, watcher of the seas and goddess of navigation, is the guardian deity of Limsa Lominsa. She commands the element of wind and is associated with the fifth moon of the Eorzean calendar. Llymlaen is the daughter of Thaliak and the elder sister of Nophica. She is most often depicted as a strong fisherwoman wielding a long bladed harpoon. Her symbol is the wave.

Event starts at the Aftcastle in Upper Limsa (X:11 Y:33) on Saturday May 23rd at 4:00PM Eastern EDT (Time Converter).

Guards will be ceremonial within the city-state and supported by the Yellowjackets.

For Pilgrims:

During the performance, pilgrims are asked to be silent in the public channels. Emotes with /em, /say, and /yell are asked to be held off until the main performance is over.
Animation and sound emotes are welcomed! Please just turn the text off on them during the performance.
In lieu of reacting in /em and /say, pilgrims are encouraged to form parties with their friends and groups to react to each other in /p - that should help with the text bloat and keep the reactions more personal and immersed with the main people pilgrims want to interact with.
Anyone willing to host a "during performance" party for those who come on their own please contact me so I can find you at the event start and get people together to interact and meet. If a group of friends has room in their party and wouldn't mind hosting a new addition, that would be wonderful too. We'll sort it out at the start of the event.
After the performance, everyone is welcome to use /em and /say and can change parties as wanted.

Music and stories from some special guest speakers and bards will highlight the evening. After the presentation, everyone is encouraged to mingle, give prayers and thoughts, or partake in the smaller congregations.Â

Blessings and wisdom will be given to those who wish in attendance.

Entire main event is planned to last a hour with hosts staying around afterwards for free-form role play.

~While this is a pilgrimage in celebration of one of the Twelve, really would like to express the theme and environment of this event is to come together and have an inspiration evening for each other and on reflection. This night will not have strong overtones of worship and ceremony.~

Will be touching base with past participants and helpers all this week. Letters and whispers abound!

Another peaceful pilgrimage but happy to contact our other guards and keep the line, or if anyone just wants an excuse to have their character there who wouldn't go as a pilgrim.

If anyone is interested in assisting pilgrims with blessings, speaking, prayers please let me know.

Also brainstorming some sailor blessings and sayings to share with people afterwards.

We're in summer! Plus then everyone can head to the Wench for a drink and card games!

Yay! As long as I'm in town I will be there. 8D And if you still need guards even though it's in the city then I will smoosh the Dauntless there, but definitely try to be there just for the regular event. 8D

Hurray!

I got a huge amount of whispers about the immersion last time with the guards in their tabards and robes. It is in a city, but if it's what someone needs IC to show up they're more than welcome to come and be part of the event!

Most of them are usually quiet stoic types, others complain... but then some also help welcome people over to the group and encourage them to talk to those there or strike up conversation about what happened. I never anticipated how involved guards can be.

Do love your chitchat! I've gotten some great help in PMs with brainstorming and still hashing out that we'll have some sayings and blessings to pass out. Not sure yet I'll let you know!

Kestlona should be able to make it to this one since Lisma is her home.Â She could probably visit her family, (her dad sending her to the Dutiful(sp?) Sister) before heading to the event.

John will 'also' be there though he won't approach Janis until after the event is over.Â He also probably going to apologizes for not coming to tell her how wonderful the Celebration of the Scholar was still under the influence of the stomach bug that he had been suffering with at the time the event took place.

Aww! It's difficult to work on two characters. If Kestlona gets involved and talking with people there, surely Jancis will have a chance to see Â him in the future. Mayhaps at the Grindstone again!

This is Limsa's Matron so surely the city will be hyped!

Notes are sent out and I got to touch base with a few people over the weekend! Really exciting to get whispers with ideas and thoughts.

Wanted to touch base on the idea of having pilgrims write on papers again. For Menphina instead of having individual blessers because there were so many performers that everyone wrote their own individual prayer or message about a loved one.

For this event thinking about people writing something quick for the Navigator's priests about a goal in their life they want to reach, maybe they don't know how they will (or if they will) and it's something they're having either trouble navigating the way to or are determined to reach it.

If anyone wants to play the part of a blesser please let me know it's a great way to interact with people after the celebration.

I've reached out (and by reach out I mean just sent a PM in a shy manner) to a couple FCs who have been wonderful with providing guards for the event. It's a purely ceremonial job so if anyone else would like to volunteer they're welcome to. It's a way to get a grumpy character to an event the player would like to see.
