To be fair, it's a somewhat easy mistake to make. There's a handful of male faces that are pretty androgynous for elezen, miqo'te and hyur in particular. Not too surprising given that such a style is very popular over in Japan but at least it's possible to make masculine/handsome looking characters too!

I actually thought she grabbed a screenshot from somewhere to show people the outfit.

I am embarrassed now. Where's a cool place to commit seppukku?

You've offended his proud, tia heritage

But then you said she! And then Miqo'te!

Oh well. His proud Tia heritage was the only casualty here.

Hahaha! I was talking about my main at first *nods*    This was another character.

And I'll have you know that he takes his tia heritage very seriously! There were no minor casualties tonight.

After he mentioned it I did go looking for it myself and thought I saw it but I could be it could be merely because I was looking for it, haha. In any case, it was not me who was offended, but him!

Now I have a natural urging to bring this up if I ever meet him. Somehow, someway, his proud Tia heritage will be severely challenged.

He could always prove himself by ripping off his shirt.

All in all, people can dress their character whatever way they want.
Or the lack there of, as it were.

I certainly wear whatever I want. Most of my characters have quite a few outfits they can wear (I think Ganale has the least at three outside of his raiding and crafting/gathering gear, and Tahz has the most at like fucking twelve), all of them based on whatever gears I think look nice/appropriate to the character.

Yeah, though you can easily make a convincing non-androgynous male as a midlander, just not a big-dick muscle fetish erp-perfect alphamale.

All of this. Right here.

I just wanted to stop by to express my support for shirtless male Highlanders.

And shirtless male Miqo'te.

And..well...shirtless male everything except Lalafell.

Please no shirtless male Lalafell.  Please.

It's also pretty lined up with what I expect a Sagolii Miqo, as I imagine them to be more tolerable of standing the heat of the sun. The hood could be used to protect your face and your lower extremities can be protected too.

Her abdomen might get red from the sun if she's out for a while, but that's about it.

Okay...on the one hand, people should wear whatever the hell they want.  You like the shawl?  Wear the shawl.  Wear it and flaunt your abs in pride.

However, please don't make the statement that this sort of outfit is something someone would wear in the desert.  It's the opposite of what someone would wear in the desert because all that outfit offers is dehydration and skin cancer.  Sad

If you're going for actual desert wear that offers more than dehydration and skin cancer (and perhaps even protects you from those things!), you're gonna want long, flowing, loose and light-colored clothing.  And you want to keep your head and the back of your neck covered as much as possible.

Seeing threads like this made me glad Asmo is a Midlander, with a reason not to be shirtless. But it nice to see most can relax and take this as a joke.

>.> Just kind of wished when I afked in the quicksands for ten or so minutes to do something around the house I didn't have to come back to seeing /tell of Asmo getting hit on. I have the afk sign set to five minutes... find someone else for you erp >.<

Then someone needs to tell those Drake Hunters in the Sagolii Desert to put on some clothes. Dazed

It does kinda sound like this issue stems from some personal insecurities, perhaps of the sexual nature.

"Please cover up those handsome male bodies, I don't like looking at them and I come up with excuses to cover up the real reason why."

If that's the case, the problem isn't the digital shirtless men, but something that should be solved elsewhere.

I'm reasonably confident that OP just made it as a joke, because he hasn't filled his quota of joke threads for the month that just ended.

Maybe the insecure one is the person trying to "call out" anybody who points out something as benign as highlander men often going shirtless and assuming it's due to some deep-seated virtual pec jealousy, or god-forbid repressed homosexual urges. hint hint: you can choose your race, the people who want to have a highlander physique will have one

because they picked highlander

the OP also plays a highlander fyi
