This is a great launch for the expac in a huge way. Back when I started, it was literally just "farm Amdapor Keep," then "farm Wanderer's Palace," and virtually nothing else.(07-09-2015, 12:53 AM)Edgar Wrote: Then what do you call it, Verad? Because I call it lying. And you don't lie to people who give you money. They've mentioned multiple times that a) Law will be granted at 3.0 uncapped. b) Alexander will be dropped approximately 2 weeks after the launch IN ORDER FOR PEOPLE TO ENJOY THE MAIN STORY QUEST AND TO AVOID PEOPLE MAKING PEOPLE FEEL FORCED INTO SKIPPING CUTSCENES and c) Alexander Savage will be dropped approximately 2 more weeks after story mode along with esoterics which will be on a weekly limit and lock.
From what I gather this is much better than the darklight/myth grind? I wasn't around for 2.0. Law drops into peoples' laps like crazy.
You have far more chance on calling it misleading by addressing the new jobs being locked behind the main story quest. They've never said that Alexander would be available at launch. They have definitely said that it will be released after launch.
Adding endgame content in a trickle is a smart business move for an MMO, since we don't want a huge chunk of the playerbase slicing through raids and dropping their sub when the first doldrums between patches rear their ugly head.
I think that it's a bit unfair the way people go on about Square being incompetent at writing or planning accessible content so often. This team pays an obsessive amount of attention to the game, updating it and adding content more frequently than almost any MMO developer in the market. They adjust more problems and patch more frequently with an almost psychotic degree of care, and Yoshi-P is one of the best directors out there. It is no surprise they are this obsessive, as that more or less saved the series and possibly Square itself. (To make up for the first version of the game nearly destroying it.) The 2.0 release had some issues but was fundamentally a solid game, and HW seems to build on that really nicely.
