So I decided to give it up and pay for a transfer to Balmung so I can join the rp community as well. However, on the transfer page it says I can't transfer to a server that is already full. I keep hearing you can, so I'm growing confused.

I did try to google it, but a lot of people just say either no, there's no way you can, and others say yes you can. And I have no idea what to believe in. Just honestly worried I'm going to be spending a lot of money on nothing.Â Sad

So... if I were to pay for it, would I still have no means of getting into Balmung? Why does the official pages say you can't, when so many say they've done it?

You can. And yo can bring as many characters (max 8) from one server over for the same fee, as long as the characters are otherwise able to be transferred.

The last toon I transfered to balling was roughly around September of 2015. It may be full, but it's still possible to transfer. All they did was lock the ability to make new characters in Balmung.Â

Now if only SE would increase capacity of the locked servers...

Yea, I think I read the same thing once, but it does work. New people still transfer almost daily it seems. Myself transferred a whole list of alts over just about two months ago.

And you choose a server destination for your characters before you pay for the transfer, so I wouldn't worry that you pay for nothing.

I transferred onto Balmung a few days ago. There were no issues. I've seen the caveat on the Mog Station transfer page, too. It says you won't be able to transfer onto a pop-capped realm, but you can.

Yes, you can.
Transfer ALWAYS worked.
I've done it for multiple alts.
The "open for creation" rules don't apply to the paid transfers.
The only time it wont work is if there is maintenance.

Yes, I had that doubt as well when I started and wanted to transfer. They clearly state in the transfer information that it should not be possible, but obviously, it is in practice...

2 friends transferred 2 weeks ago and allwent fine.

The most beautiful thing about this server:no gold sellerâ€™s hehe. So in a way, I hope they don't open character creations on that server. What can I say, I'm selfish!

My guess is that the servers have an actual population cap compared to the active-at-once cap and it's just poorly translated fine print.

Transfer to Balmung? Is that possible?
