So, about the patch....

I actually didn't have much time to get things done yesterday since I didn't get home until late last night but I did enjoy everything I was able to get done. For any level 50s who are trying to get Titan Hard mode done are probably very shocked by the fact that they're getting insta-ques.

Speaking of titan, did anyone else notice the dialogue change? I thought it was pretty neat and at the same time, kinda sad. Poor Ga Bu's parents are dead (even if I saw it coming, it still made me a bit sad).

What do you guys think about the 3.4 MSQ?

Holy shit I'm hyped for Ala Mhigo, blood for blood ect, nothing is too stupid or too dangerous to get Ala Mhigo back.

I imagine that with this patch, you have a lot more to work with given those Ala Mihgo events you run. Big Grin

This MSQ presented some really interestimg narrative twists about the balance of Dark and Light. It also set in to motion a possibly awesome new baddie in the form of The Griffin, even if how he's been empowered is Yet Another Ascian Plot.

The text changes for the Titan fight were a Landslide to the feels, for sure.

Really awesome stuff all around. For once, I'm not sure what's coming next!

P.S.: Was anyone else REALLY nervous about the camera lingering so long on the servant making drinks for us during our dinner?

I'm actually looking forward to going through the MSQ today. Yesterday I was knocking out all the side stuff and all my queues would pop in that first cutscene where you're eating dinner. Like, without fail. And I didn't want to miss anything so I got to wait as that elderly Elezen repeatedly walked around offering wine and doing... whatever... at the table off to the side. Like with Wolf, I was totally expecting some Chekov's Gun moment with that guy - another poisoning or drugging or something.

However, while not strictly MSQ-related, I've noticed that Time seems to be a big theme right now. At least, I noticed it regarding Gigi's ability and the whole gimmick of Alexander. I wonder if that's going to come up again or if it's just limited to those two.

Alternately, the whole ending for Alexander and the reason for why we're going into the MSQ dungeon (which I haven't done yet, last one in my list of Things to Do) makes me wonder more on the nature of the Primals. And their own stakes and thoughts on matters. Especially with the Ascians actively getting them summoned for the purpose of having them killed.

I suppose I'll learn more once I'm more than, y'know, two quests into the 3.4 MSQ. Laugh

As Kage watched that guy pouring drinks I was thinking "KEEP WATCHING HIM AND DON'T DRI- Well ok I seriously hope shit doesn't happen again because godfuckingdamnit if so."

I'm curious if people who aren't at that 3.4 instance get the same dialogue box changes. Couldn't find out because the newbie was too busy trying to die to tell us if Titan was saying something different. Koboldlings are so smol ; ; I was thinking the game could stretch us a bit and have Alisaie and Ga Bu bond even more so that Ga Bu would follow her...

On another note about Titan, I thought the Titan summoning was gonna show us some scene similar to the 1.0 scene that never made it into the game because of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

I am still not convinced that the Not!Griffin or Griffin are not Ilberd but that guy would be a) dumb to not recognize you after the fights you've had and such but... well he was more interested in leaving us alone for the Ascians. Time will tell.

I assume it has maybe something to do with an Atma Weapon? I dunno....but I assume next major patch will focus on that.

The flats has been mentioned to have the Omega Weapon so right now the consensus is that he wants to open it up and activate it.

Some think that maybe that is also the route of the Resistance.

I loved that patch. Even more that I liked 3.3. I tried to put the finger on what made me feel that way and...

I think it's not just the cutscenes and screeplay. It was already damn epic and dramatic in 3.3 for the end and closure of the Dragonsong War, with the icing on the cake being a very mature epilogue.

No, it's character development. Proper character development. I think it's more or less the first time in the series that they put the emphasis on it like that. I actually came to like Papalymo and Yda, where I absolutely loathed them before (especially Yda and her detestable silliness).

I dunno, but it feels whole now. That's what the story lacked until now. I hope they carry on that way.

I am also very pleased by all the other storylines. I wasn't sold on Alex at first, but it sure got my attention for that last part, and the very end of Midas also. Even if it's kinda full of plotholes and wonky stuff (like most time travel stories anyway), it grew on me as we finally learn more about the story. I don't care much for goblins, but the whole atmosphere got quite nice. I like what we learn on that specific primal and how it works. I loved the conclusion reached by the brain computer of Alexander at the end, that's good stuff. That whole series sure had even more cutscenes than Coil. Very good screenplay. I'm still way too biased towards Coil though (because of the Story and mechanics, it was just perfect), but... Alex gets an honorable mention from me.

Also, Hotgo tribe lore! Out of the blue.

The whole Warring Triad stuff is getting better and better. Sophia's lore on Meracydia is sweet. It tells us a lot more than we knew. We keep being told that those Eikons are way more powerful than the usual shit summoned by beast tribes (you bet they are, they were summoned by a whole nation continent to face almighty Allag). We learn one of the true purpose of the containment bays in Azys Lla (creating other Dalamuds!). It's promising. And... we also learn about garlean cover agents screwing up with the VIth legion commander, sent probably by aristocratic rivals. That brings a lot of sweet stuff for garlean lore.

They try to pressure more and more the beast tribes and more generally all the oppressed into summoning bigger and nastier shit every time. Until you get into a so unstable and chaotic situation with weapons of mass destructions on the scale of what you see in Allagan or Mhachi/Amdapori stuff that suddenly, calamities.
