I get the "still logged in" error when I try to CREATE a character.... Figure that out. And Gilg was finally showing up as open for creation too. FML

Edit: Also note, I haven't been logged in on any toon for hours.

Can't log in, server full.
Get logged in, only to disconnect/crash/log out
Can't log in, you're already logged in.

It's no wonder the server's full if people can't log out...

If you are stuck with error 3102please try this as it worked for myself and husband

Go to the FF14 Lodestone.   Sign into your character through there then log totally out of there. Sorry I'm on my phone so no links.   But try it and see

I suppise its good, then, that I only get to play on weekends. Here is what it comes down to, two types of people: the people foolish enough to wait out a terrible launch for an indefinite amount of time, or the people too impatient and want to spend their money elsewhere...

I get to play two days a week. Square's failure is pushing people away. Maybe its best to play something else for a month or two?

Just disappointed like everyone else.

It's not a failure on SE's part. It's not really a -failure- on anyones part.

We were talking about this in Vent last night while the servers were down. It's very likely - infact, probable - That SE has had the hardware for the servers they implemented since EA at the latest. It's not as simple as getting the hardware and you're done though. They still have to test the hardware for any errors, get the right software loaded onto it, get it setup, get it wired in. It's a goodsized process to go through for all of that.

As for the server load issues.. Yes, you can blame that on the AFKers and lack of an AFK timer. But, what it boils down to is the game itself, and 1.0.

I mean, you look at what 1.0 had for a playerbase when it fell (I don't know the numbers, but I'll guess 200K~). Then, take into account what they had for closed beta (200-300K~?), and what they had for open beta and early access (500K~ then dropping in EA back to what CB had, I'd guess.)

We didn't have ridiculous load issues in the betas. In EA, there was -some-. NOthing more than you'd expect from a new MMO. SE handled those relatively well.

Then all of a sudden, launch hits us, and the floodgates open. Hundreds of thousands of players are trying to log in. SE's scrambling to hold their own - And, yes, they're not doing a very good job.. But they're working on it. The game has -so much- more activity than they could have anticipated.

I dunno. Just my thoughts on it.

Pretty much this, yeah.

Someone asked me how other MMO launches have been worse. The difference between this and other MMO launches is that a lot of those launches had various bugs in game. Other than connection issues with servers being overloaded, FFXIV is relatively bug free from what I've seen. That's insane. It's crazy how smoothe the game is once you get logged in. It's such a good game that everyone wants to play it and that's what's causing the bugs we are facing. It really is so good that it's causing its own problems.

Edit: And before anyone points out the duty bugs we've been plagued with, I would point out that those ARE server connection bugs from too many people assaulting the duty servers.

Found this floating around. Test it an pass it around.

SO There is a rumor going around that you can fix your 3102 if a friend invites you to a party and whispers you a message while you're offline (this is what my viewers have told me and it did in fact fix my problem.

Every game has bugs in it through all of its stages and they still have 'bugs' in them when they launch. The developers just go 'Oh, that's AD (as designed)' at which point those bugs become easter eggs and weird finds.

I really wish the game'd come out but I'm not entirely sure why they just don't prevent EVERYONE from logging in while they work and stop having to worry about, likely, a flood of reports and tickets about not being able to log in. I mean, I know the people paid and what not but they can be refunded their time and it seems like it would just be easier to boot everyone off instead of trying to fix something while people are thrashing wildly around and breaking everything all over again with the sheer mass. Just fix it without the pretense of letting some of the people play some of the time and be done with it.

It's not insane it's bug free. It wasn't bug free the first time around.  They spent almost three years fixing the actual game. If it had bugs now square would have to avoid go hide in a closet.
